This board used to be Health and Fitness so posting this here

Recently I've had a massive outbreak of eczema all over my bod, been to the doctors and have tried several different creams/ointments/allergy pills, which haven't done much at all

Have heard water fasting is a great way to sort out your immune system, so I'm aiming for a 2/3 day fast

Does anyone have any experience doing this? Does it work? Do you know of any other treatments for eczema I could try?

Hit me

I don't know much of anything but I figure water fasting will fix all your problems by killing you. Good luck OP!

No clue on water fasting. But the biggest thing that helped me was actually moisturizing. I now do it every day. Twice a day or more on my eczema areas. I take oatmeal baths about twice a week as well. Put oatmeal in a coffee filter. Rubber band it shut and just let it soak for awhile. Add in some coconut oil into the water as well. Keeps mine almost completely away

Have been applying an emollient several times a day and regularly clean my skin, keeps the dryness to a minimum but it's still p red

Will try this oatmeal bath thing, what are the advantages? Does it just moisturise?

If water fasting is just drinking water and nothing else, all that's going to do is lower your immune system as your body looks for other energy sources (depending on your body fat percentage I guess)

I had the same thing, all over my body, lats, sides, legs, butt, lower back, I was a mess. Got a derm to inject me with a cortisone shot (goodbye natty card) and it cleared up with that + topical steroid.

Best of luck man this shit sucks

No shit, i did a water fast from last Friday to yesterday. Felt pretty alright on Monday, but the insomnia was too much. Ask away, op

I initially thought this too, but apparently the lack of food to digest allows your body to divert all of its energy to repairing itself
Just talking about a few days man, don't wanna become a skelly again

Have thought about seeing a dermatologist, cautious of using chemicals to fix it though

Why were you fasting? Did you notice any improvement (insomnia aside)?
