Anyone here skip rope? What's your routine?
>>
I do 150 between ab sets.

Or I walk 1/4th mile do 100, continue until I have done 1000.
>>
>>37650589
FUCK man now I wanna do some double dutch shit

Where can I get jump rope
>>
Jump ropes are a meme. Just flick your wrists and jump up and down in place for reps or time. I do this all the time at the gym and I'm pretty sure I get the same results as someone doing a meme-rope.
>>
>>37650770
You've obviously never boxed in your life summerfriend.

how does one make routine.out of it, i only do the running variant untill i sweat buckets
>>
>>37650982
3' x 6 (1' rest)

The ' being minutes i asume?
what upper muscles does it train?

>inb4 jumping rope ro build upper body strenght
>>
>>37650925
>boxing
>jump rope
The two don't even relate to each other. Boxers that jump rope only do it because they fell for the meme.

I know you are

>mfw 5 summers ago, lost 20lbs eating right & jumping rope in my living room using a tabata timer while watching every season of Lost
>>
>>37651107
>tabata timer

Nig i sure hope you weighed 150kg cos I have no idea how you managed to lose weight by jump roping for like 20 seconds at a time.
>>
>>37651074
What the hell are you even talking about? Nobody's trolling here. Jump ropes are a damn meme.
>>
>be somewhat overweight
>have moobs that jiggle during cardio/jump rope

should I diet before doing cardio? I'm not sure if all that bouncing is stretching skin out and making gyno worse
>>
>>37651121
ya I just looked up the timer I used, and it isn't legit tabata... it's just called "tabata timer", and my intervals were more like 90 on, 30 off, etc.

my bad
>>
>>37651126
No. Just do your damn cardio.
>>
>>37651124
>>37651033
I hope you aren't actually this thick. I sit here at my computer genuinely hoping that you are baiting, because son EVERY boxer worth anything jumps rope. Sorry, what's that? You think it's a meme? Klitscko, Ali, Tyson, all fell for that meme, and desu I wouldn't care if they told me it was one either
>>
>>37651205
It's a meme. Having a rope in or out of your hands makes no difference in your ability to jump up and down for reps or time.
Jump ropes are a meme.
>>
>>37651228
You're an idiot.
Jumping rope trains cardio AND coordination. If your feet hit the rope then you are a clumsy fuck and that's going to show in the boxing ring. It's why boxers also use the speedbag. It trains coordination and timing.
Holy fuck, don't have children.
>>
>>37651033
>I know you are
damn.. hit him with that 8 year old 2nd grade burn..
someone take that cunt to the nurse
>>
>>37650589
I jump rope for 30 mins after my workout, which is every other day
I do 20 sets of 70 secs of work and 20 secs of rest. That's HIIT. Anyone got some better way to do that? I don't want to implement tricks or anything since I'm just doing it to lose weight, so if I had to change anything it would be sets/work time/rest time.

I once jumped rope for like 4 hours and my back hurt for two months, I'm pretty sure I permanently fucked up something on my lower back
>>
>>37650589
Where am I supposed to do it?

Is it normal for my ankles to hurt after?

Can I make calf gains with jump rope?
>>
>>37651669
here are some tips:
always wear shoes
a yoga mat is bretty good senpai
slightly bend your knees so you don't fuck up your joints
the first couple times I did I couldn't even fucking move the next day
imo HIIT is the best, meaning you should give 100% for a period then rest, and repeat. But since it's cardio, remember to jump rope without breaks for at least 20-30 minutes.
Get a good rope, nothing fancy is really needed, just not the kids one.
I'm not sure about calf gains since I always had big calves and I'm only doing it for a month. If you want big calves maybe you should try isolating them in your workout maybe?

Good luck bud
>>
>>37651477
>don't have children
That's what the doctor told your mom. Now we all have to deal with your dumbass.
And jumping rope is still a meme. You can coordinate your jumps without a rope. You can do front and back or side hops by putting a small hurdle on the ground or drawing a line on the floor.
Jump ropes are a MEME.
>>
>>37651726
You are an idiot.
>>
>>37651751
So why aren't they a meme? What makes them superior to just drawing lines on the floor with chalk and bouncing around? You're still bouncing, you're still working coordination.

You're just frustrated that you know I'm right and you can't prove that jump ropes aren't a meme.

The burden of proof falls on you. Provide evidence as to how skipping rope is a "meme".
>>
I saw a good looking grill doing some jump rope in the gym the other day. She was pretty fucking good at it honestly senpai, lots of people were staring. Honestly made me want to try it again.
>>
>>37651842
I did already. I gave examples of how it is a meme by stating other exercises which accomplish the same results without having a meme rope in your hands. You have yet to prove me wrong beyond saying "muh boxers use the rope".
>>
>>37652201
Similar results? Yes, as long as it refers to cardio. But you still haven't explained how those execrcises help your coordination between upper and lower body.
Nor have you explained how because it can be done with other tools it means it's a meme. I can build my back with dumbells, does that make barbells a meme? Idiot.
>>
>>37652250

swinging the rope tires your arms a bit, but overall it's mostly calves
