nigga there are other chemicals playing part in that.

if you focus on the intake and out take of regular healthy food, there is no fucking problem at all.

What he says is kind of right but its still calories in calories out.

ugh I can give a real explanation if somebody on this forum even give a damn.

OK so stop eating for 2 weeks and tell me how that goes

If you don't completely atrophy and start shedding massive pounds of fat and muscle after the 72hr mark, then you win!

Thanks for that high quality empirical evidence OP you complete retard.

How does that even matter? Reactions can be less than 100% efficient, in fact they always are unless their's a surplus of reactant. SOmetimes you don't get 100% of the energy/mass in food, due to issues with the chemical structure or surface area/volume ratio. (This is where the whole natural vs. refined foods argument comes in actually) However a reaction cannot be >100% efficient. You will never gain more energy than you put in. It doesn't matter how complex it is, if you stop putting in a reactant (food in this case) your body will either
>get the reactant from somewhere else (glycogen, fat or protein from tissues)
>die
Staying the same isn't an option.
>>
>>37642461
Water weight and muscle glycogen are a simple way to gain/lose weight by ignoring calories in/out in the short term.

I don't understand how people can be such faggots about this.
>>
Didn't watch. But, it literally CAN'T work any other way or the human body would not be able to function.

Your body needs a certain amount of energy to, you know, live. There's only two places it can come from: Food, and body fat.

Conversely, to store fat, your body needs material to work with. The only place it can get it is from food that wasn't immediately burned for energy.

Again, IT LITERALLY CAN'T WORK ANY OTHER WAY.
>>
>>37644070
This, cal in/cal out is strictly for determining total non-water mass. Obviously if you're worried about body comp and general health you have other concerns.
>>
>>37642461
>2:1 ratio of omega-6:omega-3
This guy is retarded.
>>
Now, to be fair, "calories out" is a moving target and can be affected by a variety of factors, including (ironically) what you eat.

There IS one medical condition which does indeed prevent a person from burning calories. They call it "being dead".

Thats why you count macros too, with that staying consistent you can get as shredded as you like.

calories in and out is a science but what most people dont take into consideration is gut flora. If you were a fat fuck through most of your life due to overeating you've conditioned your gut flora to be shitty which in turn slows down your metabolism.
>>
>>37642461
The ufc is so full of steroid abuse that normal body physics don't apply.

No, you just have more of it devoted to processing shitty food. If you eat like a /fit/zen for a few weeks the composition will alter, in the interim you will derive less nutrients from the food you eat as your body is not set up to properly deal with your new diet.

It's part of the reason why crash diets fail so fucking hard. Not only are you on a deficit, your body can't effectively process the radically different foodstuffs you are giving it. So instead of a 200cal cut you get a 500+ cut which becomes untenable unless you're Christian Bale.
