What is everyone training for? Got my first marathon myself in 4 months, very excited. Remember to stay hydrated in warm weather!

About to go on a 5k. I've had a shit day so if I make 25 minutes I'll be happy.
I'm not training for anything, may do a marathon next year though. I've never ran an event.

guys is 5 km a good distance for a total noob? i cycle a lot (40 km a day), so would 5 km be good for me?

would it be possible to combine this with swimming? theres a lake by my village with a dike around it that meassures about 25 km, but there are three canals that one would have to cross to round it, is it bad to cool down my muscles with swimming during a run?

Most likely your glutes and hip abductors are weak and cannot support the load and work. Work that booty, hip abductors, and lower back muscles (some light weight deadlifts) also do core exercises to not cause an imbalance

As soon as its comfortable enough to walk on, start walking on it, speeds up recovery by alot. But srsly dont run on it if it hurts or it will get btfo

Start off slow, going from zero to sprinting will likely burn you out. Remember, HIIT, sprinting and interval training are designed for experienced runners looking to improve their times, not for people who never run. Add to that all out sprinting is barely cardio, it's more anaerobic. So while healthy, you're probably not getting the same heart benefits as regular running, swimming or cycling. So I guess it comes down to what your goals actually are.

Just got back from a 10k felt great but it was a bit warm today.

I'm conflicted anons... As it warms up and gets disgustingly hot outside, I don't want to stop running. Hydration isn't a problem, I can manage that fine, but getting to warm is a problem...

I'm finally look good and in shape with clothes on, but I would jiggle with my shirt off. When it's 95 outside and humid though, I'm going to want to have as few layers as possible.

So at what point is it okay to run without your shirt on?
