i agree with rotator cuff. But also having minor non serious cuts on hands/fingers that are just deep enough to prevent you from lifting.

Food poisoning

This isn't technically an injury, but it's so much worse than most run of the mill physical injuries as the heavy shitting, vomiting, and crying not only prevents your workout, but actively rapes your gains.

I tried to sprint a mile back in high school when I was still pretty untrained and managed to fuck up some part of my calf area because when I kneel on it and try to go back up it hurts like a bitch if I'm too fast doing it. Been doing cardio lately and that plac always holds me back afterwards to the point where I can't walk because it'll hurt a shit ton (but I walk it off anyways and it returns to normal.) wish I knew how to fix it.

I recently had a lumbar strain. It's been 3 weeks and I still can't do any weight bearing. Only swimming.

So I imagine anything to do with the lower back. Anything else you can easily work around.

Laterally tilted pelvis. My right side is lower than my left, significantly impacting gains on that side. The muscles on that side will not engage for the life of me.

Also possibly femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) which is where your hip bones are shaped wrong causing your bones to rub against each other. Not sure on that though waiting on x ray results.

I randomly got bodybuilders shoulder that needed to have surgery about 2 years ago. I literally couldn't do any press and all totaled it was 18 months before I could start working out again this Christmas. After 6 months I am getting much closer to where I used to be tho (muscle memory is real brehs)

Unfortunately I still have a persistent bicep muscle belly tear (not tendon) that WILL NOT HEAL no matter how long I give it. I have twice given this fucker up to 6 months of no pull whatsoever only to have it come back again. The only thing that seems to have improved it is lifting, it still hurts I can just do heavy weights now before it kicks in. Negatives have done wonders.

Tendons

The fact that resting a injured tendon makes it atrophy

The only reliable way to make it heal is to do loads of shitty lightweight work for your support muscles then cut your lift weight in half and slowly build it back up over fucking weeks of bad gains

Or at least thats how i healed up my rotator cuff strain.

Fucking hip flexors. My left one has been acting up for 6 weeks now. Haven't squatted in over a month and it's not looking like I'll be able to this week either.
>>
Medfag here, if you suspect you have tendonitis, for the love of God don't continue lifting because you could be setting yourself up for a rupture in the long run. At some point the tendon will fail to heal and will just regress until it's useless and you won't be able to do much about it at that point. Also, consider yourself lucky because a good number of people have their tendons rupture without any warning signs (i.e. pain).

Don't completely stop using the tendon but like >>37635510 said you should first do some very light weight mobility exercises so as to aid in the correct healing of the tendon. After a month (time is variable but a month reduces the risk of a recurrence) you can go back to lifting, but obviously start off with light weights and not what you were lifting originally.

Finally, if you can't seem to get rid of the pain, see a PT. I'm pretty sure seeing a PT is cheaper than seeing a doctor and unlike chiros, they're actually using evidence based techniques. You can go to a doctor but most likely he'll just tell you to go see a PT as well.
>>

>it's taken years to recover my bench even with the luck of having all my tendons still intact

>>
>>37629956

I don't really have any injuries that interfere with what I do everyday.

Being a big guy at 250 lbs, I do notice after doing so many push ups and dips in a day that my wrists seriously hurt like I fucked up a nerve though.

Never happened when I was younger. I am talking 50 pushups/dips at a time. I have since reduced the amount and don't notice it as much but it does decrease my performance.

Knees.

Seems like our family runs bad knees. Some shit about the patellar and whatever makes it move smoothly is naturally shitty in our family, resulting in increased pressure that the patellar is pressed against the knee with.

Basically I went up to a 4 pl8 squat, never had any issues, squattet textbook regarding knee travel etc and still my knees now hurt even at body weight squats.

The moment I flex my quads while my knees are somewhat bent just triggers a nasty pain.
No idea what to do now. I am currently stretching everything around the knees, but if we are honest, stretching almost never works and I will have to stop squatting forever.
>>
>>37637671

Twisted ankle. You can't do anything. Sitting down makes it swell.

With a rotator cuff injury I still was able to squat and isolate arms.

With my twisted ankle, it was impossible to do anything.
Although the feeling of barely being able to walk and still outsquatting most of the gym was something that still makes me proud of myself.
It took a power cage and the sissy squat contraption we have in out gym, squatting from the bottom position, for those who wonder how it's even possible.

fucking lower back pain. it flares up at random, one morning I wake up with it and I know that the next 4-5 days will be fucked. then I get some peace for 1-2 days and it starts all over again. although recently I am starting to notice a pattern of it having to do with alcohol consumption. maybe there's hope that my shit is not permanently snapped. I really hope it's muscle inflammation and not vertebral damage. doctors and physio haven't found shit
>>
>>37641130

It's not and any serious source will tell you to do barbell rows instead.

Do some heavy resistance hangs when your lower back cramps up.
>>
>>37641043
Butt wink is when you blow your asshole out at the bottom of the lift. Upon closer inspection, the gaping crevice that was your asshole looks like its winking

Nasty stuff
>>
>>37641295
>He wants an EPG about muscle activation

Nigger do a full fucking ROM chinup and you can literally feel your posterior delts bunching up, how hard is this

Nobody ever said they were the best exercise for delts but to flat out deny that they're involved at all is just retarded
>>
>>37641043
Buttwink is when your hip tilts posteriorly due to your hips running out of ROM.

I have very deep hip sockets so my femur hits my illiac crest and causes my hip to shift too much which puts stress on your vertebrae. This essentially causes an outward pushing motion by causing the verebrae to put stress on the discs themselves.
>>
>>37641413
Fact is that if you do chin ups for your rear delts your are going to have your shoulder blown out as soon as you stop benching less than three plates.

The exercise is absolute trash for read delts, ask anyone that ever touched heavier weights.

I have this.
You can see the difference in the shape of my obliques, left thigh is 0.75" thinner and left foot arch is dropped.
I also have some weird sciatic type pain on that side which comes and goes regularly buy bizarrely does not restrict my ROM

Id rather not get orthotics as it seems like a crutch. This is musculoskeletal. It must be possible to fix it with correct exercise.

Have you had any luck with correcting yours?

Loose piece of cartiledge in my left knee, knee can be blocked literally any moment, causing severe pain. Lower back weird pain, some other problems probably requiring surgeries.

Also, FEELS.

I was going for a 3rd rep after barely getting 2. I was just trying to push myself.

I went down too low and felt my hip tuck and then on my way back up on the second rep, I felt a slight pain in my left side of my lower back. Stupid me of course trying to push myself went down for a 3rd rep anyway. I got stuck in the middle but completed the rep. When I finished I felt a slight pain but after the endorphins fainted it was much worse.

Just don't be stupid and don't go past technical failure on squats and you'll be fine. My case was an isolated ego driven cause.

Fuck I think OHP messed me up today too. I don't know what I did wrong but an hour after working out my middle back now hurts quite a bit. Tomorrow is a regular rest day so I'll keep off it but hopefully it won't effect my Thursday lifts too much.

hernia or low back disc injury

Went through hernia surgery about 2.5 years ago; still a bit sore some days due to nerve entrapment. Have a touch of back pain, but that's getting better with a stretching/inversion/yoga combo to shore up the area.
