Yeah, drinking is a gainz killer in general.
I've experimented with weed, mixed results. An hour or so before will probably be a safe bet. The relaxation helps me stay at the gym longer. The smoke inhalation, paranoia, and hunger don't really help me perform my best.
I recommend weed for those days when you're just going to half ass some cardio and sit in the sauna for a while.
