what if I can't afford a gym membership or weights or anything because I'm a broke loser? can you just start with diet and cardio to lose weight and save up for some weights while trying to get body fat lower? can you achieve any kind of gains just from home?

I can't fit a barbell or bench in my shut apartment. is it worth getting a dumbell or barbell to do stuff like this with other bodyweight exercises?
