learn anatomy. Learn what your scapula is, what biceps are, latissimus dorsi, etc

look up at the ceiling, and pull at the elbows. They are completely fucking different from curls

Like other people have said, chinups work your shoulders in addition to you biceps. Also, I think chinups work your core a little bit to stabilize your body.

the curl more or less isolates the bicep. the movement is at the elbow.

the pullup uses the bicep but focuses on the back, which moves the shoulder joint. the upper arm moving downward is what provides the force.
