I've been cutting for a month at 1200 cals, but now I've been stuck at 156lbs for four days. Do I need to cut my cals more? Or possibly add in cardio?

Tips for cutting are
1) eat less
2) move more
3) count calories
4) get plenty of sleep
>>
>>37494790
Pretty often when you cut sensibly and inanely your body engages an adverse hormonal response. A too low caloric intake won't let you lose your fat faster.

Up your caloric intake at least at 1500 (1800 if you're a man) and move. Or your body tries to slow down your metabolism. Chances are you've been already experienced days where you were weak, tired, sleepy.

A calorie is a calorie, and overall count of what goes in and what goes out is what matters. But you can't fight your own body and you can't just point all on reduced (and absolutely insufficient) caloric intake.

tl;dr you're cutting too much, eat more and move more you lazy piece of shit
>>
>>37494906
are you closely tracking your calories ?
are you doing strength training?

eat less or do more cardio

Start lifting with a linear progressive overload and carb cycling with a mean of 1700 cal/day
You will lose weight despite eating more. And you will have a faster metabolism and more overall energy throughout the day.

On 1200cal you're just asking for a slow metabolism.
If you don't want to lift because you're a stupid grill who fears picking up a dumbbell will turn you into a roided bodybuilder, then do some HIIT cardio. And I mean HIIT and not LISS. 30min per session, each session has to kill your lungs.

Google every term you don't understand in this post.
Don't listen to the replies my post will trigger saying adaptive thermogenesis (aka metabolism slowing down) is a meme etc. These are from 2016 nyr trying to fit in, and from curlbros who get all their knowledge from /fit/.

>mfz thinking of you hurting
>>
>>37494953
>eat less
Im at 1200 cal a day but its usually 1000 or under
>move more
I lift, but like i asked in my original post-- should i add in cardio?
>count calories
Do it already
>get plenty of sleep
I try
>>
>>37494790
Eating less is NOT the solution. Eat more and do things that trigger your body to use more energy even in between your trainings, like lifting or sprinting
>>
>>37494969
I am closely tracking calories, i use my fitness pal app and i have my macros at 50% protein. I eat lean turkey, chicken, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and veggies. My diet is very plain and is always a mixture of those foods. I started lifting when i started cutting, but dont do any specific program. I just go every other day and work out everything. I can only squat 1pl8 though.

Calories in calories out, m8???

I lost 12lbs already on this "cut", ive just been stuck here for 4 days.
>>
>>37494790

4 days isn't enough time to see noticeable results. A lot of times I go all week without any change in weight, and then just all the sudden lose 1-2 pounds overnight.
>>
>>37494970
Won't i just gain weight back rapidly after being at 1200 cals for a month then increasing to 1700?
>>
>>37494953
just go for more walks

hunger pains will fade
>>
>>37494971
If your goal is weight loss, you should be doing more cardio than lifting. Also most people require 8+ hours of sleep, is that what your getting?
>>
>>37494971
>should i add in cardio?
YES.
>>
Low-sodium diet for a day or two, weigh yourself in the morning. Don't worry so much about your weight as so much your body fat percentage.
>>
>>37495004
Train more, train harder, train longer. Cardio will help a ton, but you gotta stay moving for 1.5hours+. The biggest skellys in the universe are long distance runners, so i guess you get the point. Number of calories isnt that important, as long as you are on a deficit.

>>37494790
That picture hits me right in the heart for some reason.
>>
>>37495074
I want to build muscle, the sticky said that building muscle will cause me to lose fat. Id like to lift heavy but i need to lose weight first and be a normal sized human being. Ill add cardio in though. Also i get around 7-8 hrs of sleep
>>
>>37494790
>four days
Stop weighing yourself every day, your bodyweight fluctuates daily based on the water your cells are holding onto, and the fatter you are the more it can fluctuate. How much DO you weigh? 1200 kcal is pretty extreme if you're a man.

>I lost 12lbs already on this "cut"

Please come back in 4 weeks when you've rebounded and gained 15 pounds and you're ready to hear how to do this the right way.

Ty for the support friend
>>
>>37495046
No. At first you will have some water retention so you weight wI'll go up 1-3lb during the first 7 days or so. You metabolism will quickly adapt to having more energy, it should be a matter of 2-3 weeks to be fully recovered unless you used to be anorexic or something equally serious. Carb cycling ,ie adding carbs on top of your normal diet the days you lift, us a fantastic way to overcome weight loss plateaus. It's also more optimal because you give a burst of energy to you body when it needs it most, while keeping the same overall deficit over 1 week.

My gf used to be in your situaion btw. Lifting on 1500cal, she didn't lose weight. I convinced her to up to 1700cal, she lost weight for about 5 weeks or so then plateaued again (although I suspect it was temporary).
No she's on a 1800average cal carbs cycling, her high carb days are 2050cal and low are 1600cal I think. She's been losing weight pretty constantly for about 3 month.

She's also 65'6'' and started at 162. I think she''s around 145 now.
Lifting 3 times a week, I have her do an lower/upper/fullbody split.
>>
>>37495146
I'm serious, I'll set a date in my phone, please come back at exactly this time 4 weeks from now. I know EXACTLY what's going through your head right now, you think you've magically solved the problem of being fat, all you need to do is stick with this hardcore crash diet, and you'll solve all your problems and you'll be thin and happy and it's been going fine so far so what could possibly go wrong??
>>
>>37495004
If your lifts aren't getting worse and you're eating a good amount of protein, common sense says you're not losing muscle.
>>
>>37495177
Typing on a phone makes me rage.
Also I hadn't read your op correctly. A not losing weight over 4 days is perfectly expected. Gaining weight some days also is. You didn't reach a real plateau u less it lasts 2-3 weeks at least
>>
>>37495185
Why would i ask for help if i thought i magically solved being fat? Stop being so aggressive you autistic fuck
>>
>>37495177
Do you mean 5'6" instead of 65'6"?

>>
>>37494790
Four days doesn't matter weight fluctuates depending on your shit thickness and water level and mood and shit. So just do it once weekly or if you really want to do it daily chart em on a graph and you'll probably see a pattern of gradual decline
>>
>>37494790

Being an average height male at 170 pounds I've been doing 500 calories give or take 100 calories every day for the past month and I've noticed this as well, but I have not been to the gym in the last week like I usually do every other day for an hour at a time.

My weight has not moved at all in the past week.

I plan to run and move around and make time for the gym again, because I don't think I can sanely cut any more calories.

I did loose like 10 pounds though when I was going to the gym along with the cutting.
>>
>>37495547
500 calories a day?? 0/10 bait, faggot
>>
>>37495608
I dunno, it's basically rice crackers, salad, water, salsa, water chestnuts, and a vitamin, and whatever I can run into that doesn't suck that has no calories in it.

Mostly water and avoiding eating out of boredom.
