Hey people, im thinkin about doing some cardio over the summer to lose weight. Will that work if i go cycling daily and cut out calories ?
Ps. Dont tell me to lift, the closest gym i have is almost 500 miles away

it burns some calories, but like all almost training it's just a small portion of the calories you burn during a day. if you want to lose weight you need to get your diet under control. when you have that then cycling can help a little bit

It's good, low-impact cardio, which of course isn't a good substitute for a proper diet as others have said.

My legs have also exploded in size and definition. Partially the result of cycling.

It's also fun, which these goobers always forget.

It's a great leg workout that's pretty low impact, I mostly use it to train my quads and cardio for snowboard season and it's worked great.

you just said youre not going to go to the gym and the only reason to avoid cardio is if you're a VERY serious bodybuilder and just want to build size, and if u dont go to the gym, there is no exuse.

It is perfect for fat loss, as long as you have your diet on check. I'd recommend complementing it with a bodyweight routine if you really don't have access to a gym. Try getting a pullup bar and ab wheel.

I moved to the Netherlands from the UK and the only fat people I see here are tourists or disabled/elderly people.


They cycle EVERYWHERE.

cycling at a good pace for a few hours burns loads of calories, throw in some good hills and a few sprints and you can get some serious conditioning happening.
You gotta remember to eat though if you're gonna ride for 2+ hours though, running out of muscle gylcogen isn't fun.

Buy a couple sandbags and a duffel bag to put em in. Obv doesn't replace a gym, but it's cheap and it'll do if you don't have access to a gym.

You can do deads, zercher squats, bench, rows etc and it'll be better than just doing cardio alone.
