The Uncharted and Tomb Raider games really did it for me, it was basically a reality check - I thought "goddamn that looks cool, and since Lara is such a little twink, a manly man like me oughtn't have any troubles with that".
So after failing to do a single pullup, I figured I'd get stronger and somewhere along the way I fell for the powerlifting meme and two years later I can do a whooping TWO good pullups, but hey I got that 80/110/160/200 kg for reps and lost a great deal of deadweight in the process.
