How big is it?

Maybe the reason Mr Piano is eating 15 or whatever meals a day is because they're so small.

Saturated fats are one of the key building blocks the body uses to make cholesterol and related molecules. While there are both good and bad forms of cholesterol, a diet high in saturated fats is one of the best ways to increase the 'bad' form, or LDL and up your lifetime risk of cardiovascular disease.

>>
>>37388548
>at most it should be $300 a person

You know, I'm thinking Canadian prices. Food prices up here are pretty high compared to the US, even when adjusting for the exchange rate. In Canada, $300 for food per month (or about $225 USD) is poverty tier. So I can see why Piana's food is overpriced down there. But in Canada, it's OK.
>>
>>37388443
What is "lean ground beef?" What are they considering "lean?" An 85/15% meat to fat ratio may be considered lean because the meat outweighs the fat by almost 6-to-1, but it still isn't nearly as good for you as 93/7% ground beef. Them saying lean gives you no measurable way to tell the quality of the meat.
>>37388470
>>37388481
Yes, your body needs fat to produce essential parts of the body. Pretty much all of the cell walls and myelin sheathes in your body are 100% fat. You need it for proper hormone production, vitamin solubility, energy, blah blah, etc. Cutting fats out of your diet is retarded, but you can choose better fats. Mono- and poly-unsaturated fats are much easier for your body to utilize and unquestionably more healthy than saturated fats. Especially saturated fats from animal products. It is the some with cholesterol. You want your HDL cholesterol to be within the proper range to keep your arteries clean, but HDL cholesterol is most easy to consume from fatty fish. The cholesterol you get from something like beef (like you "lean ground beef") is goong to contain much more LDL cholesterol, which is the shit that clogs your arteries.

Yeah I didn't know that it was only 1500 cal/day. I figured it would be bodybuilding level of calories - 2500 or so for $500/month. But $500 on a cut, that's high, agreed. But there are plenty of professionals whose salary (per hour) is more valuable than the cost of buying and prepping their own meals. For them, its more profitable to eat Piana's stuff than to cook for themselves. Rich is targeting the right market.

I did a frozen keto meal plan for a couple months (not this one.) It was 300$ a month. As a recovering fatty, I thought it was well worth the money, for the convenience, and just to teach me how to eat and what a normal food portion looks like.

Jesus fucking christ I'm done with this board. It takes you 30 minutes to get all the shit chopped up, throw it in the slow cooker then go do whatever the fuck you want and it will magically turn into delicious food 10 hours later. So actual time you had to invest in cooking = 30 minutes.
>>
>>37388648
I can pretty much do the same. Throw as many chicken breasts as you need for a week on a baking sheet, season, and put in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes. Put 2 cups of brown rice, a can of black beans, a can of stewed tomatoes, a cup of water, and some spices in a pot and cook for 40 minutes. Put oats, milk, chia seeds, greek yogurt, fruit, and spices into 7 mason jars, mix them up, and put them in the in firdge over night. Have enough raw nuts and veggies on hand to eat with meals. There you have it, dude. Have oats for breakfast with coffee, have chicken, nuts, and veggies for lunch, and have chicken, rice mix, and veggies for dinner.

A whole week, cheap and clean, prepped in ~30 minutes.

Glad I could help. I won't lie though, you do have to mix things up occasionally or you will get bored and eat a whole large pizza. I find that breakfast and lunch are the easiest to stick to because I eat them at work. It is just shit I throw in my lunch box and eat as necessary. Dinner is where you are most likely to stray. The rice mix is money as fuck, so that is not an issue, but you should mix up your dinner proteins. Lean 93/7% beef and salmon are good substitutes for the chicken. Also, you are going to want to snack. Choose snacks that are healthful and, most importantly, filling. Roughage will fill you up fast, so a bag full of raw broccoli and some hummus or greek yogurt dip will usually do the trick. A couple hand fulls of mixed nuts and raisins are also great. Lastly, don't entirely deny yourself the good stuff. If your friends (>implying /fit/ has friends) invite you out for dinner, go with them, Just don't do it every night of the week. Or if you are sitting at home and have a mean hankering for a fatty snack choose something rich that will kill your appetite quickly, like a couple spoon fulls o peanut butter or some ice cream.
>>
>>37388653

Those professionals can also afford to have healthy meals cooked fresh and delivered to them.
>>
>>37388618
Me too broheim. I think most people don't know how to shop for food. Two weeks ago at Fry's I got 18lbs of sirloin steak for $33. Granted, it was an insane "Buy 1 get 2 Free" special, but they happen far more often than people think.

If you're seriously dedicated to weightlifting AND are money-wise, you would do well to go to the store at least twice week to increase your odds of finding super deals.

Prep means preparation, not cooking time you fucking mong. It takes about 5 minutes to put all that shit in a pot, bring it to a boil, turn it down to low and then walk away. I am actively engaged with preparing the food and getting the cooking process started for maybe 30 minutes. While it is cooking you can go and do whatever the fuck you want. How important is ever fucking second of your day that you can't leave a pot sitting on the stove for 40 minutes and wait for a timer to ring?

I forgot to mention, weekends (or whatever days you aren't working) are your best friend and worst enemy. On those days you can experiment and change up your eating routine, but at the same time you have all the time in the world to fuck up and eat a large pizza. However, to change up your routines I would suggest these:
-For breakfast try making kodiak cakes. They are damn tasty and you an top with with (YOU GUESSED IT!) greek yogurt and fruit. You can also go for some eggs and sauted veggies.
-For lunch make a sandwich. Use whatever meat you have, put some cheese on that bitch, pile it high with veggies. The most important things are to skip the mayo and use good bread. All bread is going to have high carbs, but make sure it also has a good amount of fiber and a low amount of fat.
-Lastly for dinner, get the monkey off of you back. Figure out what they one meal is that you have been dying for all week and then just go eat it. If you have one big, nasty cheat meal a week it isn't going to kill your gains.

Also, the most important part of eating well is portion size. This is were almost everybody suffers. Don't eat until you are full. Eat until you aren't hungry. It will suck and you will feel hungry more often, but if you keep it up your appetite will adjust and you will be able to eat three reasonable meals and two small snack a day without feeling starved. Also, you stomach will adjust to receiving less volume, so when you fuck up and try to gorge yourself you will find that you fill up and feel sick very quickly, which will stop you from ruining your diet.

>>37389032

I track pretty much everything.

The B3 is red because apparently if you consume over 35mg per day it can cause flushing.

I try to keep the omega 3/6 ratio to 1:4, but dietitians don't really know which ratio is the best yet -- some say 1:1, 1:3, 1:4 etc.

The amount of fat you need depends on your caloric intake. I try to keep it to 20 to 35 percent of my daily calories while keeping trans-fats and saturated fats to a minimum.

I also don't rely on getting vitamin d from my food since it's really hard to get enough that way.
