Keto is only a semi-meme. I was 280 and 6'0. I lost lots of weight from cutting out sugary drinks (still drink diet soda, cause I'm weak, but I'm slowly cutting that out as well). I also did keto.
It won't make you burn more weight than any other calorie counting, but what I noticed is once I was in keto for 2 weeks I stopped feeling as hungry. I had a pretty big appetite but I started feeling pretty satisfied eating a couple of eggs and a sausage or piece of bacon.
If keto can help you control your appetite, then it's great for you. You should check with a doctor first, though. If you have the beetus, keto can kill you.

So I've been eating salads lately, and trying to learn in cook in general, and I feel so cheated. This shit is so easy to make and delicious and surprisingly filling. I made my own dressing that isn't even low calorie compared to other dressings, and I still feel pretty full despite it being only 300 calories total.
Why the fuck did I even get fat in the first place. I'm so mad that at school when they taught us to cook, it was shit like pizza and cookies and stuff. They never had us cook a nice stir-fry or some chicken or anything like that, and everything healthy I was ever fed by my parents was bland as fuck.
