For me It can be longboarding, hiking, meeting new people, checking out an event or festival or hitting up a show for an artist I've not heard before.

Honest question, how the fuck do people balance this shit in their life? I like to draw and code but I can barely manage those two on their own on top of school, job, exercise, social life, and sleep. I can't imagine doing any more shit.

I play every Monday at a friendly game. Last week I got second, this week first. Read some poker books and take from them what you want nd your game will get more and more solid. Sometimes it just comes down to the cards, but if you play well consistently you will win. I was gonna play Friday but the weather here in Texas has been shit.

Bro, I don't even look like I lift. But I would say:Reading, running, swimming, rucking/hiking, jazz guitar and occasionally some video games.
Drawing, gardening, making video games, making beauty products/drying and powdering herbs, cooking and coming up with recipes.
I'm going to get into refurbishing furniture and learning to animate this year.
Too bad all of these hobbies are the kind where you can't really make much conversation with a lot of people.

my friend flies planes (I work in tech, a ton of people seem to be pilots). he's taken me with him a couple times and honestly its boring as shit. he's basically jib jabbing on the radio the whole time to coordinate his flight which seems like hell and after like 20 seconds of flying over san fran and the golden gate bridge I'm pretty much ready to land. going up in a tiny plane once is fun, but repeatedly seems dull

its like driving a car. some people enjoy it, to otheres its just a means to the end. i live in S/E MI but i fly to chicago or milwaukee at least a few times a week and in my plane that takes about an 1:15 +/- 15 depend on winds aloft. and yeah its pretty boring after the 1st 20 times or so. its like a long car drive on the expressway. i dont even see anything interesting anymore.
imho most career pilots flying are obsessed with people thinking they're cool for flying, because the actually doing-it flying part is not really that fun, nor is the lifestyle that comes with flying.

I work around really smart people and feel kind of dumb around them. But I'm exposed to so much on a daily basis that when I'm talking to normies I come across as knowing everything. Like you said, it's more about the illusion of knowledge to those who are ignorant.
