personally, for warmups I do overhead squats for 5-10 mins but obviously if you're a beginner you might struggle doing that, so bodyweight squats, press-ups, 5 mins on the treadmill or bike, whatever takes your fancy

Not OP but I've been doing starting strength for a couple weeks now, today is a lifting day, and I'm sore as fuck. Not weightlifting related, like a pulled muscle type pain. Seems like common sense, but would I suffer more from skipping today to rest/get good sleep or would I suffer more attempting to still lift and potentially further hurting myself?

you'd suffer more from attempting to lift. Just rest and recover if it's a minor muscle strain.
You're supposed to lift through DOMS, for the record, but I don't think you've got those.

If anything some mobility drills, but i like to do a couple light warm up sets, then mobility work, then finish warming up and domthe worksets, then do mobility work again (doing it before and after is key)
