On the 9th of July the strongest men on earth will attempt to break the deadlift world record set by Eddie Hall last year (463kg).
Eddie and Benni Magnusson are both gunning to hit 500kg, but this seems highly unlikely for the foreseeable future. Other competitors such as big Tel, Brian Shaw, Thor and Jerry Pritchett are all dark horses to take the title, with Tel and Shaw especially looking in flying form, with Terry already claiming the double overhand axle pull world record recently.

yeah, I don't know if the extra weight he's carrying will really translate into much more strength. I think he's the favourite and is potentially good for 475, but I can see Benni or even Terry taking it. I don't think Shaw will risk going for the record, he'll just want to get over 1000lbs on a real bar
