Some would say that it's reaching that point of being happy with your life. I'd agree with those.
There are many levels of "making it" and they all boil down to personal goals. Set well defined goals for yourself and when you reach them then you've "made it". Then you set new goals, reach them, and repeat. "Making it" is an attitude, not a defined level of fitness.

The problem with making it is that at some point you will fall back, and once you've made it you hunger for it even more. Body wise I didn't really make it until sophomore year of college. But I had already traveled the world, been in enough whacky amazing incidents that I became immensely popular, slept with a good number of women, had a beautiful 9/10 gf etc. And recently alot of it has left my grasp. Even the body. So it sucks, you have to remember that maintenance is huge and you can never stop making it.
