I just started running last week and already have runner's knee. What do I do?
I don't wanna give up running because it's making me feel good and helps me focus, but my knees are really killing me and at this rate I might really fuck them up.
What do?

get some proper running shoes. Go to an actual running store where they take proper measurements of your feet, don't be afraid to spend a little extra on a nice pair of shoes, they will do wonder for your feet and up through your hips

This happened to me when i started a little bit too intense... wait a little bit for the pain to go away. Don't go too fast also your step should bot be too long. You have to let your body adapt search on google building a base for a beginner

Try not going as hard and get the shoe/insoles.

I have custom made insoles I use for work (I fish for a living) and for recreation (run/lifting)

The difference between having insole and not was like fuckin night and day for me. I bought 4 of them even though they were 350 bucks a piece for each of my shoes (2 boots, 1 runner, 1 casual)

If you've never run and you jump in, you're gonna get hurt. Be smart, do a couch - to-5k program, learn to stretch before and after, use proper recovery time, don't be a heel striker. After the c25k, you add a max of 10% more distance per week.

Why do my feet and knees hurt like fuck? Why is my back doing so horrible?


Natural running son, stay off the pavement and get on the grass/trail/sand/dirt. First two weeks suck, but after that youre a 'natural runner'.

Barefoot shoes are only for super skinny guys/underpronators or experienced runners with a prefect mid foot strike. Run on grass, dirt, and all other softer surfaces but do it with a quality pair of trainers. Go to a running store and have them find you a shoe that fits your stride and then buy it online or from them and enjoy pain free running.

You take some rest until the pain is over and buy some proper running shoes.

Do whatever cardio you can without pain while you can't run, because obviously staying in shape is good.

Are you very overweight? If so pick up swimming till you lost a few pounds, if you carry a lot of weight on you running can hurt the knees bad

The good thing about swimming is it burns a lot of calories without stressing your joints too hard (compared to other exercises)
