There's a conspiracy theory going around that bottled water releases estrogen into the water from the plastic degradation.
While it is true, the amount is so small that for it to have any effect you'd need to consume enough water every day that you'd get water poisoning, without ever expelling the toxins in any form (pissing, sweating, etc).

Regular alcohol takes me like 800 calories in drinks, even straight, to get me any amount of drunkness, so I switched to 96%.
Kinda like my picture, but a generic 96% brandless bottle, it just says "96% pure alcohol".
On a side note, high-proof alcohol producers claiming that their product is "high-quality", "new blend" or "patented taste" are the funniest shit ever.
96% is literally the highest concentration of alcohol possible, chemically, in liquid form. It's pure ethanol. If there was ANYTHING in there that wasn't ethanol, pure, chemical, molecular ethanol, it wouldn't be 96%.
And even if it's 95%, 1% of whatever you put in there isn't going to have any influence on taste, smell or nutritional values.
If you ever decide to drink high-proof, just save your money and get the cheap stuff, they're literally the same thing in a less flashy bottle.

No, that's not the reason... your reason doesn't even make sense because if you were using more liquid, you'd be peeing less and you'd be more thirsty.
The real reason is that alcohol itself acts as a diuretic. Along with that, it fucks with ADH/vasopressin to inhibit the reabsorption of water by your kidneys. So you end up pissing out water that could have been used, rather than your body needing to use a lot of water
