I offer diet and exercise tips but always say it comes down to eating less and for that you need to be strong. I don't even understand their definition of 'food addiction'. All human beings are food addicts. We literally need food. If you starve somebody for a day or two they will act like an addict, as their bodies will essentially override the neocortex in an attempt to survive. Hypothyroidism will make you feel hungrier at the same time it will make you feel less like exercising and at the same time it'll drive your metabolism down slightly. End result: you still only gain weight when you overeat. So just eat less.
Fatties really overestimate the effect these problems have on your weight, but then again, if they were good at judging food/exercise/health, they wouldn't be fat to begin with...

Are diet drinks really looked down upon? I used to drink so much soda and I cut it down, but switching to diet really helped start me off on losing weight. I went from 280 to 235 by just being a little more active and switching to diet soda.

Normally I'd agree, but one time I saw this: I was in the apothecary and there they sell these gummy snacks. They're not brand name, some small bio company, but they're still gummy candies. There were two kinds, plain and one with sugar on the outside. The plain ones were normal gummy bears and the sugar coated ones were peach flavored.
A little girl wanted the one with sugar on the outside and the mother said, "No, no, look at how much sugar there is! Get the other one."
