What do rows work that deadlifts + weighted chins don't already work better?

Bros, I... I did rows at the gym today.
I couldn't help it, I opened this thread in a new tab and thought I would read it later, but then I went to the gym and did my rows as usual.
I thought everything would be okay.
MFW I realized I'm not going to make it
because they give a thick fucking back you idiot
literally every single person with a decent taper does tons of rows

they hit your lats much more directly
are you actually a retard?

Gtfo fucking samefag

Also this, rows are integral for rhomboid and lower traps.

OP, please post your body.
/fit/ can shill all day about compound lifts but if you want to make a muscle SERIOUSLY grow you're going to need to do at least a little isolation. Lats are stabilizers at best in the deadlift and they share the work for chin-ups with the biceps. Do you really think that doing a couple compound exercises every other workout that don't even primarily target lats is gonna be enough to get you the back you want? If you do you're a retard

>what is a horizontal pulling motion for 500 Alex
Note: If you think deadlifts count as a horizontal pull you are doing them very, very wrong.

Mine are more SLDL like.
My back routine:
Deadlifts
Stiffed leg Deadlifts
T-Bar rows
Dumbell rows
Incline Lying Dumbell rows
Arnold Press
Chin Ups

Solid routine.
Sets/reps for each exercise?
>>37231022
you have to consider level of training advancement here. isolation work starts being appropriate once you get to intermediate and above, but there's no reason for a beginner to spend time doing that. nobody really argues that you should never do assistance exercise, just that beginners have more important things to do

I know, right? but I doubt he made it himself. most likely he stole it from muscle & fitness.

Why does he have 3 kinds of rows in there
what purpose does that serve
why not just pick the best kind of row and do more of it
>>37232383
And none of them are even the best kind of row, the Pendlay.
I guess there's an argument for doing Pendlay rows and some kind of supported dumbbell row.
>>37231022
Rows are compound lifts though.
>>37230607
Nearly every muscle rows hit is not one hit strongly by weighted chin ups or deadlifts. As some have said, generally the whole mid back, rhomboids, trapezius, a bunch of more minor stabilization muscles, and the rear delts. Lats do work as stabilizers that they don't do in chin-ups or as much in deadlifts.
They're not a super important exercise, but they're a good one, assuming you're doing the right kind, and not some kind of half bent over row or something.
