is the selection process for lifters that go to worlds even fair from an international perspective?

i feel like countries who have proven to have better lifters should get more spots. The 3 best 105'ers in the world are all american yet only one can go, meanwhile you can go with like a 700 total as long as you are from a small country with not a lot of national competition.

Didn't want to make a thread so figured I'd ask here:

I did low bar squat for the first time a couple days ago. Every went fine, my back felt amazing desu. But the third set, form was shakey, and I started getting kinda light headed. I'm used to this, but as soon as I re rack I felt even worse. Worse part is is that the weight wasn't even heavy, actually pretty fucking noob.

Is it because I'm not used to low bar? It felt amazing but I actually felt sick for, what I feel like, no fucking reason

Low bar usually pitches you foreward more than high bar which means more bracing of the core and higher blood pressure while you are lifting, you get more light headed after you rack because of the drop in blood pressure

to combat this lower your head a bit after your set and exhale through pursed lips while flexing your abs

The upper range puts you at greater risk of heart disease. About as "standard" as being fat and non-muscular is in the general population.

If you're already doing regular lifting, you probably don't need more flexor work, you probably need to do something like reverse wrist curls (and then I later heard reverse wrist curls like rollers can put a lot of wear on your wrists. You could look into pic related or putting a little bit of rice into a little bucket and bury a fist and open it under the rice.

>>
>>37232076
Well its always been like this:

1>they set a qualifier
2>the qualifier turns out to be completely wrong, and too many qualify
3>rinse and repeat

Not they set a qualifier(to avoid that non-elites compete) and the ranking thing(to avoid completely empty classes)

In my opinion the ranking this is a bit excessive. In -59, +120 and -66 complete beginners will likely be competing at nationals and thats a bit weird imo

copy this in a text document, save it as a bat file, and run it in the same folder as ffmpeg, also put the input video in the same folder. Then rename input and output and set the correct transpose number.

ffmpeg -i input.webm -vf "transpose=1" output.webm

transpose 1 = 90 degree turn
transpose 2 = 180 degree turn
etc..

You're fat, Isley. No one respects a fat lifter. The reason for this is because there's simply no physiological benefit to being fat as an athlete, and studies have proved this; lifters only use it as an convenient excuse to eat whatever, whenever, and fill out a weight class. That's why the 74 class is the most popular (behind the 83), because not only are the athletes strong, they're also aesthetic and not lazy.

Just look at Olympic lifters in the 77 class, like Lu, where most can out-squat the 74 PL records, all while being shredded to the bone.

>The reason for this is because there's simply no physiological benefit to being fat as an athlete

This is wrong on so many levels. I mean, wanting to look good is fine but saying fat has absolutely no benefit in traning is just wrong

>Just look at Olympic lifters in the 77 class, like Lu, where most can out-squat the 74 PL records, all while being shredded to the bone.

And weightlifters who are fatter than Lu squat more than him, what's your point?

Knee travel looks kind of excessive from this angle, but as long as your knees are fine there is nothing wrong with it.
Over all the angle is quite hard to judge things with.

Try unracking the bar less with your back and more with your glutes though

>tfw no gf to coach me
>>
>>37232715
Talked about it days ago, retarded cue "knees out".

How wide is your stance? How angled are your toes?
Your knees should be just far enough out so you sit between them. It's more opening at the hips than pushing knees out.

Coan talked about this in his ST squat video.
>>
>>37232647
Thanks. I know it's a shit angle but it's the best I could do myself without looking like an autist
I've never had a problem with my knees and I'm happy about it so I guess I just keep squatting and do some hip mobility shit because practically I've been ignoring stretching forever.
>>
>>37232754
I mean they should pretty much just line up right with toes. Pretty basic.
I mean slight varus or slight valgus aren't anything to freak out over, just try to make some small corrections to keep the knees following the toes.
>>
>>37232483
>saying fat has absolutely no benefit in traning is just wrong
What is this supposed benefit besides mental (placebo)?
>squat more than him, what's your point?
In higher weight classes. They wouldn't be competitive lower while fat.
My point is that being leaner makes you a better, more competitive athlete. Take Norris: no one can compete against him, because not only is he a monster, he's lean. He fits in the 93 snugly like in a pocket.

There's a reason the weightlifting 69-77kg men's weight classes are the most popular over others. They're good athlete not only for themselves, but for the audience also. Being an athlete isn't about competing solely for oneself, selfishly, but about competing for the sport that you love as a whole. If Isley remains fat, he's only being selfish, weak, and nonathletic.

Pulled 455 today. Really happy to finally break 450.

However I have a question, how weird is it that I can squat 370 and pull 455 but my bench is 215 and OHP is 130. I feel maximum T-Rex mode.

All in all, still happy with the progress, rather have a big squat and dead than the other way around.

Looking at competing for the first time this summer.
