How do those of my /fit/ bros who work 5 days a week still find time to go to the gym? I get home at like 630, have to make myself dinner, go to the gym, and then i basically have to go to bed right after. Is this my life now?
>>
>>37222304
>Is this my life now?

do you want to get fit and reach your goals? yes this is your life now. make a goal and go all in. if you plan on half assing this so you can get drunk, skip the gym, and fuck with your diet - you are not going to make it
>>
>>37222338
i am very inspired ! thanks you!
>>
Make enough money and buy a home gym. i lift 6 days a week on a PPL routine because i have a home gym. if i had to drive a gym i wouldnt make it
>>
>>37222304
What time do you start work?
>>
>>37222351
also solid advice

there are always days where shit hits the fan and your schedule gets all fucked. nice to have a place at home where you can blow off some steam
>>
>>37222304
>How do those of my /fit/ bros who work 5 days a week still find time to go to the gym?

welcome to being 10% of the board here. My apartment has a gym I go to, and I also just buy dumbells. Additionally think about changing Gym's to something on the way home and pack your clothes with you. You can also save time buy making larger meals and popping them in the fridge so that less time is spent daily cooking.
>>
>>37222304

Yes. Because you'll feel like garbage sitting at a desk all day and not doing anything when you go home.
>>
>>37222304
Make yourself dinner for the week on a Sunday and freeze/refrigerate what you want to eat for the day. It'll cut down on your cook time during the week and you can enjoy that extra time to shit post on this here meager Uygher mausoleum meetup.
>>
>>37222304
Do you want fucking gainz or not
>>
>>37222363

830 but i have to wake up at 630 to eat breakfast and travel

>>37222382

i pack all my food and freeze stuff the night before. its just hard getting ~3200 calories in a day without resorting to eating garbage

>>37222338
>>37222407

pls senpai ;_;
>>
>>37222407
>do you want to be able to pay bills or not
>>
>>37222416
Drink a huge shake in the morning that covers like half your calories. Then just eat Lunch and Dinner and you're at 3200.
>>
Is this some autistic r9k wagecuck b8
>>
>>37222416
OP look for places on your route you can grab something along the way and eat.

I chose my gym so I could do this when needed
>pack clothes in car before work
>shift ends
>drive directly to gym
>work out
>drive home

Additionally I mapped out some food spots for breakfast that ended up being fairly healthy and comparable to what I would make at home but in less time. If you want to eat before working out see about just heating up some food at the end of your shift and eat it before you leave.
>>
>>37222304
if you follow the routine presented in SS, it literally takes 30 minutes minimum to finish everything.
Also, try going to the gym straight after work. Then go home and eat dinner. Might give you more chill time at night but i dunno.
>>
>>37222505
>Everyone is a noob doing SS
kek
>>
Fuck going to the gym after a full day work brah. Just get up an hour earlier, go to a gym with showers, take your work clothes with you.
>>
>early mornings before work
>late nights after work if i can muster up energy
>lunch break

i usually just end up hitting the gym at 4-5 in the morning, feels good
>>
>>37222391

>tfw this is the only reason I work out
>>
>>37222505
>Also, try going to the gym straight after work

This so much. For example, if your gym takes you 10 minutes to get there and 10 minutes to get back from your house than is nearly 20 minutes(depending your route from work home and the detour to the gym) you could have put towards working out and recooped from your night to put towards something else like cooking dinner.
>>
>>37222304
It's sucks balls being a wagecuck. The worst thing is that we're stuck at the bottom of the pyramid. And we can't improve the situation either because we're stuck here with no time to do anything
But /fit/ related: always cook as much food as you can in a single time. And pick programs like SS so you can have rest day in between.
>>
>>37222304
>How do those of my /fit/ bros who work 5 days a week still find time to go to the gym?

Don't have enough time.
If I had enough time I wouldn't have enough money.

Just do what you can while you're at work.
>>
>>37222304
Yeah it sucks dude. I've just decided 6 hours of sleep is plenty. Imagine being in school full time too.

Welcome to adulthood. Welcome to hell.
>>
>>37222585
>Welcome to adulthood. Welcome to hell.

Indeed.
>>
What do you guys mean? I just go after work.
>>
>>37222304
Go in the morning on the way or right after work. Break it up into two sessions and do some at lunch. Adjust your workout schedule to fit your life. Do meal prep before work or on the weekend.
I did all these things and it allowed me plenty of time for social life and lifting and eating.
>>
>>37222631
You must not work long.
>>
>>37222644
Not him but I do 8-8.5 hour days, unless your commute is like over an hour or you aren't picking a gym convenient for your life style I am not sure what to tell you.
>>
>Work 8-6 everyday
>15 minute drive to gym - 10 minute drive to work
>Wake up at 6:20

>No breakfast. My first meal is lunch

Or when I'm lazy

>Eat homepacked lunch at 11:00
>Hit the gym at noon and shower
>Back at 13:15
I'm usually a few minutes late but at 11 am I'm usually too hungry to go lift

I never lift when I get out of work. It's the only time I have for leisure and gf
>>
>>37222644
8 hours a day, monday through friday, pretty much the standard. I usually hit the gym monday and wednesday after work (from 7ish to 9 ish) and then take my time on saturdays. You get used to it, but yeah, I pretty much just eat and go to sleep after I get home on those days. Actually, today is one of those days and I should really hit the sack. Keep lifting, my friend.
>>
>>37222304

>being a 9 to 5 slave

>>
>>37222304

I wake up every morning at 6:00AM so I can be at the gym for 7:00, workout until 8:00 - :8:15, grab a coffee on my way to work, and I'm in my cubicle at around 8:50

If I don't get up early to go to the gym, then I workout at lunch (Hour long break), and consume a meal replacement drink for lunch at my desk.

And if I do neither of those, I hit the gym after work, ditch the pre-workout supps, go home, eat dinner, watch netflix until about 10:30PM - 11:00PM then sleep.
>>
I live close to work. 4 minute walk.
7:30-12:00 work
12-13:00 walk home, strip naked, calisthenics/ stretch and cook a nice healthy lunch.
13:00-18:00 finish work
18:00 drive straight from work to gym while eating a packed peanut butter sandwich and raspberries.
18:30-20:00 lift
20:15 shower then dinner (my showers are about 1 minute long.. I move really fast in cold water)
20:45 - 22:00 Decompress, tea, read, shit post.
22:30-6:30 sleep
Not hard. I couldn't imagine not lifting after sitting all day.
Lucky I get a stand up desk soon
>>
>>37222304
>get up at 6:00 AM, chug pre-workout drink, so that's not working out fasted.
>gym is in my condo, one floor below me.

>in bed by midnight.
> have about 6 hours of free time.
>>
>>37222304
Helps me to lift first thing in the morning. I'm in grad school and tend to leave the lab only when everything imaginable is done, which leaves no time to hit the gym if I dont prioritize it.
>>
I'm on a cut but my routine is basically
>wake up at 8am
>shower/shit/ pick up breakfast burrito ~600 cals
>heat up ~400 cal meal eat at work, sometimes will walk around outside for some cardio ~1mile
>Get off around 5PM
>Do 3ish miles of cardio at local park on way home
>Get back home at 6
>apartment has decent gym so work from 6:15-about 7
>shower/Cook 730 eat whatever left in my calories for the day
>8-10 whatever I need to do around apartment
>hit bed at 11ish

Not hard, just section your day out in an Excel document and see where you are wasting the most time and cut that shit out
>>
>>37222782

how are you not going insane with so little free time
>>
You have a long commute, seriously consider moving or getting a new job. Life is too shirt to waste two hours a day on moving.

idk

and then you get old and retire! oh joy, so much fun to be had as an old, grey man.
>>
>>37223014
I didnt ask if you were poor

I asked

How do you spend your day?

>9 hrs work(with lunch and breaks)
>8 hrs sleep
>1.5 hrs lifting
>1.5 hrs between cooking showers, eating, the 5 min commute, etc
>4 hours to fuck around

you don't lift every day so its more like 6 hrs free, plus a bit more if you're a naughty pepe and don't sleep your minimum 8 hours.
>>
>>37223007
Dude move closer to your job. With that kind of schedule it would change your life. A two hour commute each day is a lot.
>>
>>37223014
You either still live with your parents assuming they will never leave you, never worked a job aside from retail/fast food, or a welfare leech who assumes that is "living". Either way, you are pretty short sighted to see a career you enjoy as a waste of time. If you don't enjoy the job you do, find something new. Not all jobs that pay well and are rewarding are cubical jobs.

Sleep

It's nearly impossible. I don't know how guys do it. Your life becomes nothing but work, preparation for enjoyment. Then your only joy is Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

And it's worse if there is a stressful work situation and then you just don't have the energy for the gym.

Thank the lord Jesus Christ I have my own business and don't have to work the 9-5.

It's kind of hard. I'm pretty beat when it's time to go home. That's why I signed up at the gym closest to my office and go everyday at lunch. With only an hour lunch and being able to get in 35-45 minutes in (depending on if I shower), you can still keep it together if you go 7 days a week. Think about it.

You are no different from the CEO/Owner of the company. They just went out and did it, while you were handing out resumes. Gotta manage time better. Try prepping a weeks worth of meals in advance so you don't have to cook.
>>
>>37223636

this is what im trying to say

look, making a lot of money is nice. but often you get stuck with long, long hours and you can barely enjoy any free time.

the best course of action is to get a simple job, and live a modest life. everyone likes nice things, but if you have to work your ass off just to get them, and dont have the time to enjoy them, is it worth it?

take a job with more flexible hours, or even less hours, and enjoy the free time. yes, you cant live like a king this way, but id argue having the time to enjoy the simple things in life (like lifting) is worth it.

life is too short to spend it mostly in an office. at the very least, find a job that you enjoy and doesnt have excessive hours.
>>
>>37223669
You keep reiterating the exact same thing and refuse to actually answer anyone, that's why people are being hostile.
Like the other anon said, what do you do with your day? What job/career do you have?
>>
>>37223669
>mostly in an office

Im no office worker and I work 10 hours days, but an the average person works 8 hours a day including breaks

8 hours work, 8 hours sleep 8 hours free time.

That's everyday, if you precook all your weeks meals on your days off you wont have to spend time cooking on your work days which means the only time you don't have to yourself is commuting time, and if you've chosen a job that takes a long ass time to get to you should probably change either where you live, or where you work.
>>
I work 10 hour night shifts, 40-50 hours a week, generally about 42 most weeks.

Wake up 7pm make breakfast cook my work meals, work from 9pm till 7am, get home eat change , get to the gym at 8am , home and in bed by 10am.

If I get to bed that early i'll wake up around 5-6 so it sorta varies but that's the general thing. Luckily my contract is only 30 hours so any extra work is flexible overtime so I can pick which days I work.

Look in the archive for some nice recipe threads, but you honestly have a good idea already. Some good things to add are nuts, peanutbutter (GOAT), and some anons use protein powder (vanilla flavor a best for mixing).
You would be surprised how many calories peanutbutter adds to a shake for bulking.

Sweet Jesus I hate work. I hate work so much I never want to do it a gain. I'm really ready to fucking kill myself because I hate my job. There's nowhere else I can go as an 18 year old where I'd make as much as I make right now. Working just to live just to work? Why even have money? I could go on welfare and live in section 8 housing, cheating the system in various ways. I have interests, but I'm stuck. I'm stuck with no way out.

I work 40 hours a week for mediocre pay, I have no expenses as of now, not even a car, not a single bill except for my credit card, which I use only to benefit my credit score. Once I get a car, that's likely $80 dollars less a month, not including gas. Once I get my own place, that's likely $300+ depending on the situation while also keeping room mates in mind. Tack on phone bill, internet, insurance, gas, water, electric, and basic living expenses. Where did my money suddenly go?

So, while I'm still young, engaged, and interested I have to work to preserve a future I may or may not be able to enjoy. I could die at any moment, yet I must plan for the future. A future where I'm old and bored of what I enjoyed when I was younger?

My only hope is an early retirement, maybe 40 years old if I end up getting into something lucrative. Let's assume it's the case. I'm now 40 and have officially retired. My best years are over, the years I wasted working day in and day out, now I get to spend maybe 20 years or 30 years doing whatever I want, depending on if I had time to lead a healthy life, that is. Now that I'm 40, I can do all the things I've always wanted to do but never had time to, except there's only one issue. I'm no longer interested in anything I enjoyed as a I used to. I used my time in exchange for money. Looking back, time was all I had.

I'd like to hear a good reason as to why people shouldn't kill themselves the day they turn 18. I'm wondering why more people don't drop out of life. What is work really worth?

Fag. I wake up everyday at 5:15am, and go for a jog for 30 minutes while baking my oats.

Get a job where you can actually stand then. If not a job you like then at least one you can cope with.
>>
>>37225124
I did some calculations, it costs about 6-10k USD to just live, assuming nothing goes wrong and you're relatively frugal, spending only around 2k USD a year things that aren't total necessities.

Hang me high, I'm ready to die!

I miss my old job, selling drugs to the neighborhood idiots as a child. Terrible profit margin, great hours. They won't legalize it though, at least, they won't be reasonable about it. 21 to grow a plant? Is the government ran by 12 year olds who aren't cool enough to be 13 yet and do drugs?

We have plenty of natural peanut butters where the only ingredient is peanuts.

We make gross sugary ones too so it makes it easy to spot a dumb person. You mad?

why is it that always those faggy office workers have this mentality?

im a mechatronics engineer.
I swear all of my co-workers are all motivated and high energy, yet our job is 500x more exhausting than yours.

There are 2 guys with Greg type physique, and another guy is even bigger than those.

pff i pity you desk fags, you sit on your ass all day while we do hard and dirty consutrction work, you should be the ones with high energy and good bodys.

in my opinion all men should do construcion and mechanics work, and the woman should stay in the office, much more productive this way and less faggy men who think staring at a monitor is exhausting

>he thinks 40 hours a week is a lot
>>
OP, I work 13 hour days usually two to three times a week and on those days I wake up at 5AM so I can hit the gym first.

You're never going to make it you fucking cuckold
>>
>>37225124
Thats some deep shit man.

I think you have the wrong mentality. I agree that a job that consumes your life sucks.

I just quit my job and live off welfare for 1 year to make good gains and do whatever the fuck i want.

After that year is over, im going to keep searching for a company where i feel comfortable.

You'd be surprised how exhausting sitting on your ass can be. My father was a laborer for a good 30 years until he was promoted to a position where he had an office.

there's a difference between being physically and mentally exhausted you fucking autistic retard

here maybe I can give you some examples of both

physically exhausted - your mom after I fuck her raw 6 hours straight

mentally exhausted - me after realizing I fucked an ogre for 6 hours straight

literally kill yourself

I feel like you guys have this blueprint that you have to do X routine or else. Lift and find a routine that fits you like PPL or full body 3x a week, upper lower or something. Everyone can find time to train. Also investing in a home gym might help. When I worked 40 hours a week and travelled for 4 hours daily I switched to push pull legs, it was tough but I still made gains.

Am I the only one that doest mind going to work?
>>

I don't see a problem, I work monday to friday from 9am to 6pm, i wake up at 7-15, an hour and 10 minutes is enough for me to make and eat breakfast, go poop, shower, pack my lunch and get dressed. I get home about 6-45pm, 15-20 minutes to make dinner, then I eat it while watching some show or youtube and I'm in the gym by 8. 10pm and I'm back at home and I have another to bone my gf, go on fb etc. Since I go to the gym 3 times a week I still have 2 evenings to myself to do whatever and whole weekend.
>>
630? i'd just go to the gym in the morning. i usually get home around 5:15. i used to wake up at 5 am and go to the gym, but my job is a piece of shit and requires moving around so i hated feeling even more miserable.
>>
>>37222304
I hit the gym at 20:00 4 times a week for 50 minutes.

Well, it's all because you're fucking retarded
should have pursued a career that interests you

I love my job because I'm actually interested in what I'm doing there
zero stress and a lot of ambition to become better and better at it, so that one day I can be a leading expert in my field

So let me ask you, why do you not find an enjoyable job?

If your commute is longer than 15 minutes you're not living your life correctly.

and your average blue collar halfwit would kill himself after working for a few months for an investment bank, what exactly is your point?

Looks like you get my point and wholeheartedly agree

Either this or if you have the money get serous mass/progainer mix with whole milk, peanut butter etc. Shit gets to 1200-1400 calories REAL quick. Tastes like a milkshake too
