Anyway, I can't squat anymore because of a back injury. I want to run 5/3/1 though.

I am going to continue 5/3/1 as intended for the other three lifts. However, I want to know if I should substitute leg press for squat and perform leg press 5/3/1 with lunge assistance, or if I should abandon 5/3/1 for squat/leg press and just do a different leg day that addresses the gaping problem of no squats.

So: 5/3/1 for all Bench, Press, DL, Leg press,

Why does everyone assume Haack will beat Gibbs? The have almost identical squat and dead (Gibbs pull is faster and he will likely try 330 at worlds) and Gibbs bench is slightly ahead. Gibbs also hit 300 squat like a year before Haack did and is much more likely to pull it off in comp. It's going to be close as fuck and an amazing battle but I'd say Gibbs is favored.

How do i lead the bar in the benchpress?

I keep hurting myself from weird miss grooves, where i for some reason fuck up the bar path, having to adjust it all of sudden with my triceps (which kills my arm).

I dno why this keeps happening.

I feel like when i try to move the bar towards my feet, i kind of lead with my elbows, bringing them ahead of the bar and thus becoming very inefficient.

On the other hand, i dont want to drop the bar just straight down, because i push up in a curve and thus cannot maintain a straight line.

Meh, dont have any, gym location makes it kind of impossible to record from a meaningful angle.

It's also only with one of my gym locations. I go to two different ones.

Benches have the same brand, width, everything. Bar is the same too now.

Literally the only difference is that one has another color (and maybe a little different coating, idk) and the one i perform shit at is randomly angled and aligned to nothing in the room.

Good bench: Everything stable, bar path is solid, i dont even think about it, i just bench. Very strong.
Bad bench: Unstable bar path, all my focus is just on not dropping the bar to the left, bottom or top or whever it might want to move. Strength is kind of weak because i have fucking slow descents due to having to control everything really hard.

It doesnt get through my head what is happening

The lift looks good.
Can't really analyse the bar path 100% properly because it's filmed on an angle, but pic. Blue is descent, green is ascent.

It's looking like the (B) example on >>37181461 (try to visualise it in 3D in your mind and move the image to the side a bit, you'll see it matches well)
Which isn't too shabby at all.
You start with a pressing that's more horizontal, switching to a more vertical one. This is good.

You can probably still work on improving it further, but you're on the right path (no pun intended).

Keep in mind the video is filmed at an angle, so you don't see as much variation in the angle as if it were filmed from the side. Which is why it looks more "closed" than the examples in that image I posted.

So overall, looking good, keep going.

Can't really help with much besides that simple analysis without knowing more details about how your training is going, or having videos of a successful max attempt and failed attempts.
