Is there a good reason to not do 3x8 pullups every single day?

Doing sets of at least 20 instead. If you can't do 20 pullups, fuck off because you are too fucking heavy/weak to ever be useful if you need to climb something or rescue yourself

Do 8-10 sets, incresing the number of reps every week.

once you get to 10x10, it'll be great back building cardio.

You can go a long way, but you'll need additional work.

Do 5x20 pull-ups / 5x40 push-ups / 5x60 sit-ups / 5x20 dips for two times a week and once a week go running for 30 minutes and finish with 5x50 body weight squats.

That was pretty much my poor man routine back in college when I was broke. Results are decent, but not as good as lifting. Also: watch your diet.
