Are chiropractors legit?
>>
>>37057066
Some are some aren't. The one that helped me with my lower back issues was legit and knew what he was doing and actual ways to help people that involved more than cracking my back.
>>
>>37057066
The practice of being a chiropractor is legit, that doesn't mean there isn't a lot of scamming in it.

Since I started going to a chiropractor a year ago, I have zero skeletal soreness, my back is in the best shape it has ever been, I had damage on my right knee due to the military that resulted in whats known as Cowboy lean (where you put your weight on what leg as if a six shooter was there) she has made that pain manageable and now I have rainy day soreness at most.
My spine is nearly completely straight which resulted in me gaining almost an inch of height and due to muscle stimulation I am less inclined to slouch as the day goes on.

If you can find a well reviewed chiropractor in your area, you'd be a fool not to take it if you're in your twenties.

They can help prevent a lot of problems that by the time you are thirty-forty can no longer be fixed.

>>37057066
They just want to touch young girls, don't blame them desu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mkvVFBmSRk

The only documented health effects of chiropracy is a slightly (very minor) increased risk of stroke.

So no, not really. It's considered an alternarive medicine for a reason. That said, as with all bullshit, if you feel good doing it, by all means. Its your money.
>>
My only problem is that they never seem to fix anything. It's all permanent. I don't want you to say "see ya next week!" I want my problems fixed. Chiros seems decent at diagnosing certain issues, but as a medical discipline they're unnecessary. Physical therapists are taught the manipulations that actually seem to have results. Without the woo woo and "lemme gauge the temperature of your skin!" BS.
>>
>>37057340
It's never permanent.***

Smh
>>
They are good at diagnosing issues directly relating to back pain. It's when they start claiming they can fix everything from cancer to indigestion that it crosses over into pure quackery.
>>
Idk but I need to see one niggeh. Fuckin diddlies
>>
>>37057307
>>37057340

The fuck kind of chiropractors are you people going to.
>>
This guy seems to be legit

https://youtu.be/EBWF9X__CWI

But I'd say a lot of Chiros are fuckers
>>
Chiropractics at its core is pseduoscientific garbage. Although that doesn't mean they can't make you feel better, its no better than a good masseuse though....
>>
They are good at helping with nerve pain in your back, but that's it.

Don't believe the stuff about how it helps with stomach issues or any of that shit.

My chiropractor is a total bro.
Goes to my gym, doesn't peddle any snake oil shit, and actually sells supps. Only treats himself as preventative medicine.

10/10 I go once a week.

>THANK YOU BACKSNAP GORILLA.jpg
>dad takes me to his chiropractor
>a 30 year old practice that's well known for helping people and who my dad (with chronic back issues) has gone to with great benefit for years
>no nonsense pseudo-medicine bullshit
>puts hot towels on my back to loosen me up
>folds me in half like a piece of fucking origami
>immediately feel a thousand times better

>>37057721
My dad once went to some quack motherfucker who hit him on the head with a fucking tuning fork and gave him a hug "to put them back in balance". They demanded their money back. Like any other type of """doctor""" you gotta sort the good from the bad. Some are legitimately helpful and some are not.

I've been lifting for about a year or so with a sore shoulder thinking I could lift away the pain.

Recently i got a new roommate that works as a chiropractor.

He wanted me to take a trip to his work so he could check me out, so after a bit of touchy feely he started prodding me in my back and poked me right where I had pain.

Currently on my 8th treatment right now (once per week) and i'm feeling greater than ever.

Shoulder has been relocated where it should be, it was actually pushed forward and down instead of straight to the side.

He also adjusted my back and hip multiple times so my mobility has been much better.

The chiro he has learned is called Gonstead which focuses on specific adjustments to each vertebrae instead of a more general loosening of the back.

Related, Arnold approves of chiro:

when i hurt my back lifting countless boxes at UPS, i tried everything. physical therapy, ton of ibuprofen, what have you. i thought chiropractor was pseudoscience bs. but at that point i said fuck it ill try anything what the hell. that shit actually made me feel better when nothing else would. i don't know how or why. but it helped
>>
Worst case: severely detrimental to your health.
Best case: alleviates some symptoms temporarily, mainly through placebo.

There is little to no scientific support of what chiropractors do. So I don't give them my business.
>>
Has anyone ever had long term relief from chiropractic treatments? "Yeah bro I go once a week and I feel better" is not an option for me

That's complete bullshit son

I have chronic back pain and fucked up posture. I've thought about seeing a chiro but thought they were all fakes, guess I'll give it a shot.
>>
My neighbor got chiropractic work done but the chiropractor fucked up his neck and he got a stroke and died
>>
>>37058572
>temporarily, mainly through placebo.
>Literally no back pain is a placebo
Yeah no go fuck yourself
>>
>>37062736
If he tries to sell you eastern medicine bullshit dont go to them.

You should be in and out. Ive only gone twice, but it definitely fixed my back. Havent had any pain since going.
>>
>>37057066
No.
>>
>>37057066
There's good ones and bad ones. Some of them will just crack some shit to make you think they've done something.... then keep you coming each week for the rest of your life.

I thought they were all this way til I met a friend who was also a chrio... he knows exactly what's going on with my body... and he explains things thoroughly, and has an exit strategy.

Went to one repeatedly in hopes of curing my lower back pain but to no avail. Had to just wait it out; took a few years for the pain to subside.

Charlatans and shills, pls go.
>>
It's like any medical profession. There was always someone at the bottom of the class that still graduated with the minimum acceptable mark. There are shitty chiropractors, general physicians and even surgeons (though the latter are filtered out a bit more rigorously).
>>
>>37064423
>It's like any medical profession.

No, it's not.
>>
>>37064423
>It's like any medical profession

Confirmed for not having exposure to the medical profession and medical administration.
>>
(In the US) Chiro is less regulated than internal medicine or even podiatry, so there are more quacks.

There are good chiropractors that are educated and understand what they can and cannot do. My mother had serious back pain for years. Doc does some adjustments on her back, teaches her exercises to strengthen the involved muscles, etc. Has been two years now, she goes in about every six months for a checkup, and feels great.

There are also bad chiropractors out there. The ones that will tell you that AIDS is caused by misalignment of the spine, and that the cure is to beat you with a 5 pound maul.
>>
>>37058186
Was it a rotator cuff issue? I've been thinking of either trying a chiropractor or an Active Release Therapy massage on my left shoulder. I fucked it up six years ago and it still irritates me to this day
>>
Modern day witch doctors. Want your problems fixed?? Go to an Orthopedic surgery specialist.
>>
>>37065238
I went to one regarding my shoulder joint that pops when I do OHP or bench. He sent me for MRI and CT, both were clear, so he said that he can't help me and I just shouldn't do full ROM
>>
Why chiropractor when physical therapy is just as good, if not better?
>>
>>37065345

Because Chiropracy is a marketeable term.
>>
>>37058586
Yes. I go every 7 - 8 weeks now. Started at weekly then he cut me down gradually as things stayed in place between sessions. Went from wrecking my back every time I weedeated to only wrecking now if I do something quite stupid.
>>
>>37057066
Just go to your nearest Chinese massage house
>>
>>37057554
No kidding. My cousin is a chiro. I've broken over 40 bones in my body (skateboarding, gymnastics, climbing..) And I still run around like im 20 years old bc of chiro-practice(28 now). Its the same as molding something. You push the nerves, bones and everything back in place til it stays that way. That being said, it took 2 years for me to be fully limber again, but it works if you follow the practice. that being said, some chiros will fuck you over.

Jerry Seinfield did a good job of hiding his boner in that vid.

Chiropractors are masters at manipulating the goyim.
