Today is a good day. Did a 10 hour day welding and other farm shit, had a two hour nap.

Felt like poo at the gym, so I decided to switch my workout from a 1rm, to 2x1 with 30 second break at 160kg, only 10kg behind my 1rm.

I read the Bulgarian manual from cuckols. Started doing that. In three weeks my squat went from 150 to 170. My back off sets are never particularly heavy. Usually 140 2-3x2.

Because I'm still so weak, I don't really need a lot of volume or intensity in my back offs. My daily maxes are still enough to drive progress.

For how I train, I never have a set weight I want to hit each workout. I just base shit on how I feel whe I get under the bar.

So I track rep, set and 1rm numbers as Prs. Over a range of exercises. Makes it easier to track progress.

On the first working set, i unracked and reset the bark TWICE before i actually did the set, good shit and an important PR right there.

Then, on the second working set, i actually walked out with SIX steps ... definitely a huge PR coming from 3 steps.

Also some sick PRs on warmup, i did the bar for TEN reps instead of the usual 8 reps.
And on the second warm up set, i actually got 70kg x 6 in, PRed from 60kg x 6, fucking huge.

And i only started this new program yesterday!!! Insane!!

The main trouble I run into is that unlike in conventional where you just setup shins to bar, you don't do that in sumo, so seeing where to place your shins (the anchor point for me in setting up) is a lot harder and less consistent.

It's like, super fucking easy. Go in, daily min, daily max, back off. If you've been working with the same weights for a while, remember the 'try harder' cue and go heavier. I'm doing daily triple, -15% and back off fahves, highly recommend it. Lowbar and heavier deadlift singles once a week each(ish), paused deads, SSB, highbar all over the place, whatever I want for bench which is about 50-50 comp bench to variants.

His knee valgus & good morning style squat is in my opinion his body shifting into a position that favors his back and ass more - both are relatively strong from his deadlift being so much stronger than his squat, and of course his history of rowing. You'll note that George's shift in position is essentially the knee angle opening up more, i.e. the work that must be done by the quads to extend the knees reduces, at the cost of a more forward leaning torso - a position his body is well equipped to handle from deadlifting.

By too perfect I meant too non-powerlifting style and with absolutely no mobility issues.
