Good evening /fit/izens
This is my current body after four months lifting. I am nowhere near where I want to be. In fact, I feel if I continue I might end up in otter mode. I need your assistance!
I've been throwing around question to other sources and the general consensus was something like: a) It's time to start working on your diet. b) You need to focus on functional strength training. c) Bulk for six months and then start cutting - a recomp basically.
But I would genuinely appreciate some solid advice from the one place that got me lifting in the first place. Whether that be constructive criticism, motivating hate or whatever form. I currently do a full body routine 5 days a week and deadlifts and bench every other day.
What do I do from here on forward /fit/? Please.
Bump, please don't make me post beautiful woman to get your attention. Help a fellow /fit/izen out.
Fine you guys win.

How do you want to look like? Why don't you want to be otter mode?
>>36859461
Literally me. But after the first 3 weeks, not 4 months, lel.
Maybe you just have shit genetics?
>>36859838
Thanks my man, but what I'm really after is advice.

These aren't women who came right, they have been bangers from the start.
takes time, nigger
see where you're at in a year

Just continue to improve and in time you'll get to where you want. When you stop improving it's time to look at what factors you can change. With regards to training you can manipulate the frequency, the volume and the intensity, and the exercise selection of course. Strength goals are very good since they're easier to track than looks. With diet you can eat more or less, and to some extent experiment with macros but I think it's better to just do as most people do and just manipulate calories depending on current goals.
Maybe you should also look over your goals? Are they to be bigger, stronger AND leaner at the same time? Then they're not the best goals. Getting big and strong at the same time often works, but sometimes it's a good idea to have hypertrophy blocks and strength blocks.
Just read more stuff man, it's all out there.

Like this, without the legs. Also, why not otter? I've just always had a negative coronation with the look. Isn't it something /fit/ frowns upon?

I come from a family of winners and genetics are pretty much impeccable. To be honest I just don't believe you. One thing to be said is, I'm 25 and have never trained before so that could be a factor.
>>36859894
That's the point, I'm scared I'll be otter then.
>>36859890
No before pics of u
>>36859461
how's your diet and how strict are you with it?
I've been lifting for 4 months also and I have more results. I'm unemployed so I have all the time to make lifting my purpose atm. Haven't cheated any meal since I started.

Blurred face, all I have man.
>>36859895
Thank you my friend, this is solid advice. It will be reread several times.

Absolutely no diet, I eat chocolate, pizza, beer, huge meals with the family over the weekend. And just muesli, coffee with sugar, fruit and veg and tuna at night. Two servings of protein shake per day.
>>36859461
Bigger than me and I've been lifting a year
>>36860144
All my friends say I'm making mad progress and I shouldn't get too much bigger, but I feel exactly the opposite. Especially my chest! It feels like the pec major shows no progress at all, whereas pec minor grows daily.

don't listen to those people. they just don't want you to make them look bad. once you have noticeable gains they will change their tone and be jealous.
Source: happened to me

I've seen it to some degree. They even advised CARDIO. They just want my gains to melt away, don't they?
Sorry I forgot guys, but I did take two two week breaks in the four months.
Seems like the thread dried up a little, back to women I guess.

>>36860255
shit diet and you took 2 weeks off. thats your reason lol. if you keep that up your gains will be extremely slow.
>>36860279
I was injured. How strict does one need to be with diet? I've asked my personal trainer to set me up a diet today. I just don't feel like I'm bulking at all. I actually know next to nothing. Should I avoid bread? Can I eat muesli in the morning? Should I eat even if I am not hungry? How do I manage it with student budget? Jesus!!

the whole diet is 80% of your gains isnt just a meme, its true. when you bulk you may feel like you can't finish a meal and cutting is the exact opposite. just do what your trainer tells you assuming he knows what he's doing
>>36860310
Why do you have a personal trainer? Are training for specific sports?
>>36860368
Well, in that case, I guess I've been doing relatively well considering all the trash - even drugs- I put my body through. I just thought the protein shake would go so far. You know, normies mire me man, I guess it just goes to show how above average fit standards are.

I go to a private gym in an estate, got a sweet deal. They set up all your programs. It's not a personal trainer in the sense they stand next to you and say motivating stuff. They walk around with routines and people come to ask what exercise they need to do next and if you need help with form they show you how.
tl;dr: small gym master race

You should post qt men for more replies

I can't. I'm straight.
Well thanks, for what I got bros. It took some doing though, jesus.
