I hop onto the elliptical after I finish doing weights, and every time my heart rate is about 250 BPS. Is that bad? I've been working out for years and look pretty fit but my heart seems to go crazy whenever I do cardio. I'm not overweight or anything and my cardio endurance is pretty high since now but my heartrate continues to be ridiculously high for some reason

Oops, meant beats per minute lol

>250 beats per minute
I'm surprised your heart hasn't exploded yet. Do easier cardio where your heart rate is closer to 160 or 150 depending on your age

what the actual fuck, anon

Resting heart rate should be between 60-100 (roughly). My exercising rate can get up to about 140, but even 200 can be normal for some people.

If you feel:
>dizzy or lightheaded
>short of breath
>or you have chest pain
Then there's a problem, but a high heart rate, especially when pushing yourself, is not in and of itself a bad thing.

Keep an eye on it, but there's no need to rush to the ER just yet.

Well they say the highest ur heart rate should go is 220 minus your age. Im 21 so that means mine should never go above 200 for example. Get yours checked man. Dont worry about it though. Hearts can be weird but harmless for some people. Mine is very erratic yet completely fine. Had a barrage of tests done on it about two years ago. Plus these machined can often give a poor reading for a variety of reasons.

tldr get it checked but its prob nothing major

Imperial minute or a metric minute?

you shouldn't be allowed to access a gym. Visit a doctor NOW and ask to perform a stress test.

shut the fuck up. 250 is too high.
>>

If he feels fine other than that, it could very well be normal for him.
>>

There's not a god damned person on the entire planet that could ever be "fine" with a 250 heartbeat under ANY condition.
