Where does the myth that the human body can only absorb 30g protein per meal come from?

I see it cited here and there, usually debunked, but never the actual source of it. Anyone know?
>>
>>36855872

You're wasting your time eating more than that in one sitting. Plus you need enough carbs to process those proteins. If you don't the protein just turns to fat

probably from the fact that MPS is maximized with about 3-4g of leucine per meal and you usually get that from about 30-40 grams of protein from decent meats and such.

if you take any more than that the MPS will just last longer, but it will all absorb.

WTH is that tattoo even supposed to be? A sword? Because that would be a hugely impractical sword. The brass knuckle handle ensures you break your fingers the moment someone has any leverage on it, the crossguard only deflects incoming attacks into your own arm, and the blade is imabalanced, overly heavy due to a lack of fuller, too short, and thinnest at the weakest point. The double edge makes no sense with a grip like that either.

What is that supposed to represent? The least effective way of fighting?

b-but when I cut and eat less, I eat more protein

There is a refractory response to the aminoacidemia unless you're in negative nitrogen balance.
>>
>>36855872
A misunderstanding of the muscle full effect. Lay people try to extrapolate it to protein requirements.

http://www.muscleforlife.com/the-truth-about-protein-absorption-how-often-you-should-eat-protein-to-build-muscle/

TL;DR: In the time between meals (around 4 or 5 hours) it's virtually impossible to process more than 30-40g of protein. But that doesn't really matter cause protein stays in your system and you'll process it in your sleep.

This is why the gaining model is work a lot, eat a lot, sleep a lot.
>>
>>36855984

OP here, that's just a claim. Whats your source? People go through Intermittent fasting all the time without dropping in weight despite only having a 8 hour feeding window. So?
>>
Examine has an article on it. They at least cite their sources
https://examine.com/faq/how-much-protein-can-i-eat-in-one-sitting/
>>
>>36856407
no it isn't
>>
>>36856469
This. Also not every protein is the same and gets broken down by different peptidases at different rates, not to mention the fact that you don't consume a whole meal in one time or that absorption of the amino acids happens in one time.
>>
Eating 200g of proteins is fucking retarded though. There is no need to eat more than 100g a day unless you are roiding. Whey is completely unnecessary for 90% of /fit/. All your protein needs can easily be covered with a bit of meat, dairy and eggs. The average gymbro doesn't understand that he gets shilled by the supp-industry though.

>>36856499
For an ape? Yeah, it is
>>
>>36856542

Dairy is absolutely loaded with protein. I stopped doing supplements in favor of milk and yogurt.
>>
>>36856550
oh, my bad. I thought we were talking about humans.
>>
>>36856566
Humans are apes, silly
>>
>>36856630
don't be stupid though. You can't lump humans with chimps in terms of diet. A high protein diet FOR HUMANS is not unnatural.
>>
>>36855872
The body doesn't store protein, so if your body takes in more than it can use at once, it is converted to carbs and fat in short order. Literally have no idea where that arbitrary 30g comes from, I'd bet it depends on your size and activity level.

Absorptions takes many hours though. So 40g protein meal will give the body something to work with for 4-8h, depending on your protein source.

Yes, you need to eat 20g of pure lard to get back down to 30g of protein or your heart will give up because of all the muscle you are trying to support.
