And no, fatty diets are not bad for you. Fat is just more calorie dense. So keep an eye on calories if you start to gain too much weight.

So since I plan for almost 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, should I really be counting whey as only 15% of consumed value and meat at 30? Or does this figure assume a mixed diet? If I eat mostly eggs one day maybe I only need 100 grams protein and if I eat only whey I would need more like 400 grams? What about milk, cheese, and yogurt, isn't whey protein the same (casein) as milk?

1/3 of the fat in eggs is monounsaturated. 2/3 of avocado is monounsaturated. Eat both, win/win. Protein, nutrition, ample fat for satiety and hormone production.

I thought the saturated fats in yolks were bad. Saturated fat in diet is linked to heart disease and plaque formation right? I would eat more avocados but they're expensive and I'm poor. I get tons of fat in my diet anyway, I drink a lot of high fat milk and dairy and eat shit like pizzas and fast food more than fit would believe. Iifym works though and I got compliments on my abs tonight in different threads so I'm doing OK. But I don't want to die from an MI or be crippled by a stroke at 50 years old if I can help it.

Muscle building aside, I've had a lot more success losing fat with a high protein diet than I did when on a high carb diet. Don't even track calories. Just track grams of protein and lift heavy.

Well I did space it out throughout the day very well. It was basically 20 grams every hour or two, so that helps my chances, but yeah I basically took the study that showed the highest possible protein requirement for muscle synthesis and then went a little above that. I don't want protein to ever be a limiting factor, not when there are cheap and easy sources available to put in my diet.
