It's just that they condition themselves, I've been working in this as well.
Whenever I'm waiting for an extended period of time when I usually would be standing I jus do the "slav squat".

Can't do it for more than a few minutes at a time but I've felt my legs grow more comfortable in the squat position.
I pretty much just taught myself to do it, can hold it for like 15-20 minutes now without feeling too weird about it. Not being overweight (or overly massive) helps, I guess.
