There is a hint of logic to this. I started off squatting 3x a week with stronglifts and dramatically improived leg stregth and size quickly.

However, once I started lifting heavy weight for my size, I felt lifting 3x a week was actually detrimental to growth. Twice a week, once and the start and once at the end of the week is probably best, anymore and yu dont have enough time to recover.

If you want to get better at the big three you have to do them as often as you can.

I fell for the swuay every day meme when I first came here, lifted for a year and made massive leg and ass gains but little everywhere else. My bench was shit and one female friend said since I took up lifting I went from a being a guy who was cute in a super skinny way to having hips and ass like a woman.

Because I also fell for the >squats and deads work abs meme, I also developed back pain from huge imbalances from a weak as fuck core.

Then I stopped lifting for 6 months due to uni, took up boxing training in that time (lots of chest, shoulders, core and cardio) before retuning to lifting on a PPLPPLx routine.

Now I'm more proportionate, my upper body doesn't suck so much, I don't have birthing hups anymore and I'm maybe gonna make it.

even if deadlifts and squats do work the core, it doesn't mean they'll work it without you having to do anything to make sure they're activated - you still have to make sure the muscles are activated and included in the lift, if it's inactive then no amount of added weight will affect it.

nice, i had similar experiences, i mean, i never did SS, but in fact my routine was even harder, i used to squat and deadlift on every workout

i made a lot of gains everywhere, but yeah, my quads were quite sick and weren't really necessary, it was nothing but a problem

oh, and i fell for this squats/dl working for a core meme as well. it was bullshit and now we both know that.

He's wearing black, the right arm is slightly hidden behind his chest, both arms are obscured by his backpack straps, but if you look at the left arm it's pretty clear that his upper arm size is fine, just look a little odd in this photo.

And I can only squat like 165 lbs, I did 2pl8 but realized I wasn't going full depth like you so I dropped way down until I could pause at the bottom. I feel like I wasted months on half rep bullshit that didn't help me get stronger and just made me feel like I was stronger than I am. What other exercises do you recommend for leg day?

Lmao they know it's shit but this is to hide the fact that their clients are weak. They don't like to be exposed. You see it in crossfit, they'll do the most obscure exercises with huge 10lb plates to hide the fact that they squat 1pl8.
