Hey /fit/ I had a question that doesn't seem to have a clear answer and that's just simply someone who's chubby like me and is just starting to get fit, should they bulk first then cut or vice versa?
I weigh 210 and 6'0 and I have a BMI of 28 and have a BFI of 15% (according to those hold your hands in front of you devices) and I want to be big and strong but with good toning.

So what should I do first?

Eat clean, eat enough to progress on lifts until you hit a good level of strength (probably 6 months work). Then cut to a more desirable weight.

Never start with cutting unless your bf is above 35%

Figure out what your goal aesthetic-wise and strength-wise is.
Start lifting slowly, let your tendons and joints adapt to lifting.
Then after 6 months or so figure out what your dream physique would need as a daily intake (kcal and macros etc..) and which training program you would need to get there.
Then basically eat the same everyday, lift hard at least 3 times/week and after some time you´re there, as your constant daily intake will soon become less than your muscles need, you will be cuting without thinking about kcal etc too much.

Just consider that this method only works if you want to get bigger. Cuting is another story
