How was your run today? I surpassed my goal of 21 miles this week. Can't wait for next week since I started running a new trail where more runners go. Get it!

getting ITB syndrome in my right knee and am pissed about it. hoping it doesnt ruin a marathon i need to do in a few months
>>
Coming back from long lasting cold. hit 40km so far this week, will hit 75k before weekend is out. Feels good to get back at it.

That shit is annoying as hell. I did therapy and it helped a little then I came back. I started to work on my hips more and it definitely helped the most.

this was seriously so annoying over the winter for me. I just couldn't get rid of it.

What finally made it go away was getting in a habit of doing core exercises everyday and increasing my overall pace on runs

I still can't sprint because of it. I also have calf pain but it's only a problem when sprinting.

did it ever get to a point where you couldnt run? if i eventually have to push through it, do i run the risk of snapping something? i think if stretching before and after a run isnt going to fix it, i might have to grind through it for the next few months. fucking sucks because years ago when i ran five days a week this never happened.

I'm looking for some new shoes for running as my Asics are beat to shit now.

I'm in the 3-5 mile ranges and I've been recommended PT03's by UKGear, anybody had any experience with them?

Pic related, is them.
>>
I ran 20km/12.5mi yesterday in about 2 hours. Those slopes killed me though
>>
I'm lifting atm but I'm also training hard to meet my goal: running one kilometer in 2 minutes and 20 secs. Yesterday I was able to run for 2 minutes at an average speeds of 20 km/h (my running sessions are short bc lifting) before hitting the ground breathless.
>>
Today is rest day, tomorrow is an 18 miler.

Do any of you guys run every day? The idea interests me, but I don't want to snap my shit up, and most running plans on the internet seem to say that at least one rest day a week is essential. If I do a short, easy run after the longest, hardest run of the week, won't those just be junk miles?
>>
Hungover as fuck today, too much red wine and charcuterie, used the extra calories for a 60min 14km, windy day.
>>
>>36800555
holy shit how much do you eat

Pros do it, but i think they just do easy runs on their "rest" days, not an actual workout.

I only started running this week. Ran 5k in 28 minutes. Trying to transition from /v/ to /fit/. Last time I ran was last year and I never could run more than 3k, I don't know what changed this year.

Nice, seeing how badass my Skyrim character looked while running through the rain made me get up and run despite the rain outside. Reached 18 min 5k at my peak but now only lift. Keep it up bro!

I've been running (on a treadmill) in old lacoste trainers and they seemed okay, but I think they are past it now. What exactly is the purpose of buying running shoes? like what benefits do they give you over normal trainers?
>>
>>36796774
8.53k today, 8.56k tomorrow i think.

I run in 5min lots between bodyweight and mobility work as my off days from weightlifting

5min@5kph
squats
5min@7kph
pullups
5min@8kph
handstand push ups
5min@9kph
leg raises
5min@10kph
push ups of dips
[email protected]
horzontal pulls
[email protected]
pulls
[email protected]
streches
5min@12kph
5x10 reps of my weakest lift at 50% weight, currently my bench
5min@12kph+5min cooldown

as you can see, i am increasing a few of those times by 0.1kph every time until i have 5 sets of 12kph for 5min. not sure if i'm going to add more speed or more time after that.

Recovering fatty starting to run, still 30kg overweight

So i started running on the treadmill alternating 2mins walking with 1min running 9km/h. Barefoot, striking with the front of my feet.

Used to get shin splints. But not anymore. Are my legs/joints/feet getting stronger Or am I fucking my shit up?

10 miles in an hour on a cross trainer/elliptical with resistance burns 450 calories. So you did 2 hours of work and burned maybe 1000 calories at most, maybe 1200 since running is slightly more strenuous.

I do 70 miles on the crosstrainer every 2 weeks and im seeing good results. Stop eating and run more.
