Nike Air Max are pretty good, those are the shoes I have. Super comfortable.

running shoes are supposed to be comfortable, you don't want to hurt your feet or knees with bad shoes
>>
wew we really don't have shoes chart do we?

Saucony Kinvara is literally the GOAT

I have those Flyknit 4.0 (in yellow too :')) and they're extremely comfortable. I don't run anymore though, still wear them often.

>>36793054
People's feet are different, obviously. Arch length is different, width is different, length of the foot is different, foot height is different.

You should try as many shoes as possible with a 5k-10k distance and check for hot spots after or during each run.

Once you find a pair that doesn't give you hotspot or pain after you've killed the shoe buy 2 more pairs and hope they never replace it.

I typically typically go typically go for saucony but they don't last as long as some other brands. Comfy, light and very breathable while being supportive is more important to me than durability .

Good luck.

I can run a mile in 4:30. With an actual training regiment I'm sure I could get to 4:00.

Thanks for your input though.

>go to running store
>they measure your feet and test gait
>they give you shoes based off results
The only bad shoes are shoes that don't fit

This. Although they usually try to upsell you lol.
I got recommended New Balance m1080 series, $150, on amazon it's highly praised as well. These have been so good. I used to quit running after a week because of random pains like knee, hip, lower back, etc but with these I've been killing 5ks multiple times a week with zero discomfort. Expensive and dorky looking (the best running shoes can NOT be worn casually) but damn these have been great to me

Still I recommend the in store consultation where they measure your feet and pressure test you

Been meaning to get myself a pair of PT-03's by UKGear after being recommended by a friend.

They're ugly as sin, but has anybody had any experience with them?

D1 is 4:00, it's not unrealistic at all. You clearly don't know much of anything. 90% of you are jealous dyel faggots, not everyone has shit genes like you do.
>>
>>36796091
The WORLD RECORD is about 3:44.

>Trying to say you could run a 4.
>>
>>36796091
DI is 4:15 or faster. Very few people on this continent can go 4:00, even with training since high school. That's why it's a big deal to go sub 4, it's hard as fuck. Now I'm not going to call anyone out, but I doubt someone here on this board can hold 60 for 4 laps.

Saucony Cohesions are not the best running shoe, but they are almost certainly the best running shoe under 40 USD. I get 400 miles per pair with athletic insoles that last through 2 pair.
>>
>>36796199

High school boys run 4 minute miles. There is a huge gap in ability from ~3:50 to 4:00.
>>
>>36794271

I'm about there (4:45). How many miles can you keep that pace up for?

I just bought these; Merrell Trail Glove 3 in Spicy Orange

http://www.amazon.com/Merrell-Trail-Glove-Running-Black/dp/B00KZOBTDS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460780071&sr=8-1&keywords=trail+glove+3

Light, light, light very nice.. I would have preferred a less chunky sole but it is supposed y Vibram Rubber per the store girl but its slightly less sticky than a less chunky /blocky pattern would be but it may be better on actual trails

This.

Though I can't speak for the newest Kinvara 7, I've been a longtime fan of series because of how lightweight and balanced they are. Have held up just fine with hard 800's on the track, long 14-mile runs, and everything in between.

I managed to score pic related when the marathon was in town, and I'm still loving them today.
>>
>>36797008
They're really light.. I have gone through two pairs of different previous years barefoot minimal style Merrells .. they're great for being lightweight but for the price getting no more than a year wear out of them is kind of a bummer and they are always changing them so when you like a shoe and it wears out.. you'll wish you'd bought another pair at the outset.

I've asked Merrells Outlet stores about old stock over stock and they had none of the one's I wanted so i settled for the shoe in your pic.. but in orange
>>
>>36797936
literally 7 highschoolers have ever ran 4 minute miles
>>
>>36793054
Go to a running store and get fitted for one. Different shoes suit you depending on your gate, whether you pronate/supinate, you're a heel-striker vs toe-striker, etc.
>>
>>36793054
Get something that has a zero rise heel. It keeps your foot flat while you run so you adopt a more natural running form. I like the merrell trail gloves, personally.
>>
>>36798697
Idk about people with high heels, but I have flat feet and got a shoe for people with normal arches. It was kind of painful at first since it put a lot of stress on flexor hallicus longus and tibialis posterior, but after a few months of easing into it I've fixed my overpronation even though I'm still flat footed.

haha not high heels
