The people that fail immediately are the ones in it for aesthetics. They curl for 3 straight months and get all upset when they don't look like Jeff Seid, and they quit. If you do compounds you can track your progress in strength. You're adding 5 or 10 pounds every week and in 3 months you've doubled your squat.

That's what happened to me. 2.5 years in and the physical gains came but I'm still in it for the strength.

Dumbbell Flyes 3x8
Skullcrushes 3x10
BB Curls 3x10
Front Lat Pulldown 3x8
Standing Calf Raises 2xFailure
Leg Curls 4x10

And for Day B you could have:

Incline Bench Press 2x8
Tricep Pulldowns 3x8
Hammer Curls 3x8
Back Lat Pulldown 3x8
T-Bar Rows 3x8
And core for like 5 minutes if you feel like it.

You're not going to get anywhere without a good foundation of strength. You can lift your 4kg dumbbells 20 reps in a row and you'll still look like Dyel's grandson and you'll be weak as fuck.

Bodybuilders work out the way they've already built a good foundation that they're now perfecting through different isolation exercises to make sure everything looks aesthetic.

That's not to say that I would recommend a routine without any isolation exercises at all like SS to anyone who has been lifting for more than 3 months.

Yeah obviously you need to build a base first, but you don't need to waste your time with SS or anything remotely close to SS. All it takes to grow is progressive overload, if you do high volume with progressive overload you'll grow and get stronger.

For the love of god OP, just do Stronglifts + accessories.

There's even a SL app for your phone that will tell you exactly what to do, and will let you pick accessories to add.

Doing this will take care of milking your noob gains for all they're worth while also making you look aesthetic.

If you get sick of squats, just alternate between front squats and back squats each workout.
