I agree for fat loss that low carb/keto is the way to go. But is it optimal for long term health? I found going full low carb I missed out on fruit, legumes, & various other veggies which contains lots of phytonutrients as well as micronutrients.

I just don't know if low carb is healthy long term for maintainance. It felt wrong to not be able to eat a whole range of fruit & veggies long term to keep carbs as low as possible.

Keto isn't a meme it's just that there's no reason to do it all the time

Use it to get shredded, either for an event, a sport, or whatever. Then get off of it. Some professional athletes cycle keto with high carb to make themselves hypersensitive to insulin right before a competition, then load up on carbs to raise their glycogen levels above their normal levels

But there's no reason to do it all the time, and good reasons not to, including a lack of fiber, a harder time meeting your micro nutrient needs, and lowered endurance.
