Then just don't really engage people in conversation and mind your own business. If someone comes up to you, you don't have to be completely dismissive, just answer questions quickly and don't let the conversation develop. If people are persistent, you can just say something to the tune of "Hey man, I'm kind of short on time and I gotta finish my workout."
It's not that hard. Build your damn social skills and these pseudo-problems you have in social situations disappear.

The problem is that you're not used to social situations. I used to be exactly the same way. Eventually you just have to get over your fear and just talk to people. Most people are decent and willing to help and the worst that will happen is that they'll just say no. Being able to talk to people is a skill that takes practice just like anything else.

I work part time at the same gym I go to. So literally everybody knows me and it's a good feeling. It's mainly just rich middle aged men and wives with fake tit's so I have no problem meeting and socializing with these people. They all also compliment me while I'm working, talking about how they saw me workout and how much I was lifting. Hopefully some of the dudes that work there can be connections for when I finish school.

No. If you want to socialize, go to a bar, a disco, a park. If you want to socialize, subscribe to some courses I'm sure every gym has. But in the free weights room, I want only to lift heavy things for the purpose to put them down.
In the last three years I've talked only to the supervising PT, and very briefly (it's very nice to have some quick feed-back on form and shit)
After 1.5 years a former worker in the bar of the high school I went to some 10 years ago recognized me and we exchanged some words. We say "hello" when we meet again but that's pretty much all.
In the resting periods I have to concentrate myself. I'd kill you if you dared to talk to me when I'm recovering sitting in the fetal squat position while recovering from 32kg+32kg 15 reps custom sumo barbell squat (barbells are brought behind the back) - you'd probably puke

The gym isn't a place to socialize, its a place to lift. Fucking lift. You don't need to stand around for 20 minutes talking to someone when you can do it literally anywhere else. I'm probably one of the few people in my gym that doesn't herd up with people and waste everyone's time and I'm better off for it.
