My ex worked in management consulting, she made more money than me and killed herself when we broke up 2 years ago. She said she couldnt live without me, but I never thought she would resort to killing herself, since she had no history of mental illness or self-harm, just a completely normal person. We broke up because I was moving for a job, and had been thinking about how difficult it would be with a long term relationship, it was possible that I would stay in contact with herand maybe get together in the future if our situations allowed it. Had I known, I dont think I would have broken up with her, the guilt fucks with me sometimes. I dont think about it all the time but when I do it hurts.
I still think about the sunday when I woke up and had 28 missed calls from her. She called me sometimes after the breakup and told me how much she loves me, I always picked up and heard what she wanted to say. I will never know if her live could be saved had I just answered the phone that morning.
