First time on /fit/ and i'm thinking about doing martial arts. What parts of my body do i need to work on? I have a right shoulder that almost dislocates when I do push ups and I have mild Kyphosis, so my spine is curved and my ribs stick out a bit. I don't want to bulk up but I also want to be able to take a punch. Also should I change my diet, it tends to be light on meat but high carbs.
work on your traps pham everyting else is absolutely 100
don't wanna get too big i hear ya on that for sure that's my number one concern in the gym

Yeah man don't want to bulk up too fast, it's really easy. I started lifting in January and gain 50 pounds of muscle. It happened faster than I could react and now I'm a hulking brute benching 405
idk I kind of disagree with these guys. I would do a week on week off bulk if I were you. Just for a month to bring those wrists up a bit, but I also agree work traps some more. Other than that doing superb dude.

suh dude thanks for posting
OP i would be careful with a bulk, even in a week you can end up too big and i wouldn't want to see a post in a few weeks saying we fucked up your life because it CAN happen
Stick with your current diet, just add GOMAD to it.
Training wise, I would start with a routine like this:
Bicep Curls 3x15
Hammer Curls 3x15
Bench Press 3x15
DB Press 3x15
Inverted Half Squats Machine 3x15
3x15 is really important if you want to build resistance to Martial Arts.

this is a solid routine
Take a ton of vitamin K supplements dude, you'll gain a bunch of muscle density fast. Then just do curls, arm iso etc, its how the guys like junior dos Santos have knockout power
pls no /fit/, he'll die
