when i started i couldnt even do the 20kg/45lb bar, i had to use the preset bars that go up to 20kg/45lb.

The first time I did the OHP I did it seated, with a 15kg bar and legitimately struggled. I hit 70kg 1RM last Monday, something I never though I'd be able to do, and that just motivates me to hit 80 now. Keep hammering it and the gains will come. Close grip bench press is GOAT for developing a strong ohp, bench etc.

I wouldn't feel bad about lifting low weights at all if I were you, looking back on it I've only seen a handful of guys put up 1 plate or over in the 4-5 gyms I've trained at. There are plenty of regulars who have decent lifts who suck dick at OHP, don't hit it often enough and remain bad or just give up because they get embarrassed.

First time doing press got max of 95, 2 months ago. Have 115 now, going for 120 tomorrow. I feel like 5x5 isn't too good for the press. Been pyramiding up, to my 1 rep max each work out. Good gains, but it's tiring as fuck.
