What a great thread
One a week. Less if possible.
Nothing like a rest day to remind you how dull and empty your life is without lifting in it.
1, maybe 2 max
i'm just bored as shit without gym

I rest at night. 8 hours of sleep a day is all anyone needs, unless you are a complete pussy.

Some guys can make progress doing bench press like once a week. I've tried every variation and Ive found I have to bench like every 2-3 days to make progress. If I take rest days I seem to lose my intensity going into the gym. I seem to perform better when I only do like maybe 1 or 0 rest days a week. I'm better with a disciplined routine. I do deadlifts once every 7-9 days.
Rest days are different for everyone.

home gym makes it easier to accommodate any schedule.

this isn't actually a bad idea and is the strategy Soviet olympians often used
train aggressively every day for 2 weeks, then take an entire week off -> repeat
I'm 4% sure they weren't natty though
