What is the difference between these lacrosse balls and like a 5 dollar NCAA one I can get on amazon? I am using them for maofascia release aka trigger points/self massaging. These 3 were like 4 bucks for them, yet the one I wanna order on amazon is 5 bucks. Any reason why? Are they both identical? Any input on this?

Not sure if your answer lies in there, but it's worth a look and if not, I'm sure there's other forums out there just waiting.
In the end, $5 isn't very much to spend to experiment with your hobby. And if you buy both, $8 isn't still incredibly cheap to spend on a hobby. Especially considering you'd get 4 balls out of it.
