Not working the muscles frequently enough, OR, you're not eating properly.

I get doms when my protein intake is pathetically low the day of or day before. if my proteins on point shit is fine.

sore and hurt feel very differendly. being sore can fucking suck and take a few days though. especially if you're new.

I go 6 days a week but yeah I do eat like shit for the most part. I mean I get enough protein but there's also a lot of cap mixed in. Had no idea that was a factor.

I have been working out for 11 months now, with decent fucking progress.

I get sore after every workout, and i am happy if it doesnt last 3 fucking days to go away.

I think its because i hit muscle failure on literally every single set. Should prolly slow down a lil bit.

But yeah i generally think if intensity and volume are very high you can still get sore, even after years.

prolly why you're sore, you barely rest

i'm at 3-4x week, failure on each set as well but DOMS has mostly subsided. some subtle ham aches sometimes but that's about it.

I absolutely can do 6 times a week. I am upper intermediate level and require proper recovery. Although looking back I wouldn't mind some extra volume during my novice day.
