Need some serious advice, so i've been eating a 1000 calorie diet for the past 5 months and i lost a good amount of weight(70lbs) from 230 to 160 at the beginning of march i started eating 1700 cals per day which is -500 than my TDEE but i didn't lose any weight, at the start of aprili thought that it's time to eat at maintenance for some time after eating 2200-2300 for a week now, i gained 10 lbs. Did i really fuck my metabolism up? I'm 5'11 by the way

1700 seems like it's maintenance for you given your weight and activity level. Drop back to 1700 for a while and then play with your diet a bit to get lower.

I guess that makes sense, by the way if i go back to eating 1700 will i got back to 160lbs? Or will i need to eat at 1000 again to lose the 10 lbs that i gained during this week?

Bump pls save me /fit/

It's not fucked up, your body is still adjusting. I lost like 40lbs in 5 months and after eating at New maintenance I was still dropping weight. 1700 looks like it was your new maintenance for the time being. You just increased your calories too high too quick and rebounded.

If i drop my cals back to 1700 will i lose the 10 lbs that i put on? Or will i have to eat 1200 to it?
>>
10lbs gain on 2200-2300 a week?

That's literally impossible, even if you metabolism was slowed down.

10lbs of fat is 35,000 calories.

2200 x 7 = 15,400 calories
minus your maintenance, say 1700 = 11,900

that leaves you with a 1lb surplus, if your maintenance is at 1700 (which is really low and i doubt 1700 is ur maintenance)

Its not fat gains, its just normal to put either water weight or your glycogen levels are replenished and your muscles look fuller, thus you look a little bit fuller.

Same shit when you start cutting, you will notice that after like 2 days you look slimmer even if you didnt loose shit
>>
1000 cals a day for 5 months? Unless youre a midget you fucked up.
>>
>>36699504
you look the same op, the 10 lbs was probably just water weight or something not related to gaining fat

chances are too if you ate @ 1700 cals for an extended period of time and didnt lose any weight, then that was your actual tdee

10 pounds of fat would have a more dramatic visual effect on your body. The weight gains if from glycogen, water and more food in your body in general.Stay at your maintenance calories for 10-14 days (important) then start cutting calories again (start with a 200-300 caloric deficit and drop more if you feel like it)
Cheers

You gained weight so now your TDEE IS higher. Calculate new TDEE.

There is no way you put on 10 lbs of fat in a week at those calories.

It's water weight.

1700 isn't crazy maintenance. You just have to get used to eating a diet that isn't the 2,000+ kcal shit that society pushes down your throat. If you want to up your maintenance, try doing some HIIT because it increases your metabolism, apart from obviously burning calories as well. Also do you have no muscle? Could the weight gained be water weight?

You should have been lifting this whole time. You have no muscle to help you burn your calories. You are still dyel af.

Start lifting and you will increase your tdee and make it much easier to lose weight.

you look exactly the same

I really hope you guys are right, you actually made me feel better. I guess i'll lower my calories to 1700-2000 tomorrow and see how that affects me throughout the week..
>>
>>36699019

you doing cardio bro?

just jogging for 20 minutes will speed up your metabolism for hours after you're done jogging

and do it everyday
>>
>>36699160
you could lose that 10lbs at 1700, but it would take much longer.
>>
more food = more bloat and water retention

you couldnt gain 10lbs of fat in 7 days even if you tried
>>
>>36699893
Why is it important to eat at maintenance for 10-14 days
