because a 150lb push up doesn't distribute 150lbs to your chest/shoulders/triceps equally, most of the weight is supported by your body.
on a bench, the entire weight of the bar is being supported by the musculature of your back to your wrists, so there's no support from anything inferior to your scapula (If you're doing them right).
