Im still DYEL and the gains I have got are already getting me a lot of attention. I think having naturally broad shoulders helps.
Tbh your general style matters far more. Once I cut my hair and started wearing V necks, made just enough gains to fill them out well everything changed. I think a lot of /fit/ gets it in their head they need to be ripped af to get females.
