Don't take steroids and work out normally. You can only gain muscle in a big way on steroids.

Get a squat cage with safety pins that you can also do pull ups with, and a separate bench you can put in it. Get a bar, 300 lbs of weights, two adjustable dumbbells, and some deadlift straps.
