post your yfw when it's deadlift day
>>36654672
You dishonor yourself with that pic senpia
shit thread lol
So cringe thread?
>>36654672
I don't deadlift. Shit's useless.
>>36654781
Strong people in general are harder to kill tho.
>>36654672
cringe
fuck off fatso
i used to love deadlift day and i still do to am extent. but, just knowing the hell im going to put my body through later on, possibly going to bed with ripped hands etc and the fact that the assistance work beats you up just as bad as the actual pull? yea ive been less than enthusiastic about it recently.
>mfw
This looks like you that corny "Haha, time for deadlifts!" image and just edited the words out to make it less cringy, which is ironic because the fact someone did that actually amplifies the cringiness.
This shit is so cringey op. pls stop
>>36654850
Stop holding the bar wrong then.
Deadlifts used to beat me up too but then I realised when you start getting heavy doing 5x5 of them twice a week is just dumb.
I hate them. Im 6'4 so actually bending down all the way creates more of a squat than a deadlift. Only perk of being a manlet.
>tfw its deaflift day but i'm vegan
>>36654986
it's common knowledge that deadlift is easier for tall people while squat and bench press is easier for shorter people
>>36654986
>only
heh
>>36654781
>I have no core
>>36655010
Literally every limb is longer, meaning bigger momentum and further need for bending down more due to long legs. Arms and torso dont scale linear with legs you know. My back is almost more than 90 degrees bent over when deadlifting.
>>36655046
All those jelly faces kek.
>>36655017
>implying the same amount of work put in to someone whos 6'4 would have similar results and work thousand times better with the ladies due to just being 6'4 and ripped.
>>36655000
kek
>>36655092
Good luck looking like that if you're 6'4"
>mfw I deadlift and everyone in immediate proximity mires hard
>mfw le epic leg day
>>36655123
I have no problem looking like a smaller version of that while being 6'4. We both know who the ladies will come after.
@>tfw today is a pull day
>5x5 with 335 dead and then heavy singles
Time to impress that crippled guy by the treadmill, lads.
>>36655084
in deadlift the taller you are the smaller the ROM relative to your height and the easier to bend over because of shorter torso/longer arms
it's literally a fact everybody who lifts knows
it's the other way around in squat and presses where short limbs help and length of torso doesn't matter
>>36654986
I'm also 6'4" and I fucking love deads. Hate squats tho so I usually just do hack squatz and leg orezz.
>>36655123
>Pretending height isn't the single most important feature of a man to women
>>36655157
Im assuming youre serious, so Im gonna argue like you are.
When youre taller, legs become longer, more so than the torse. This means when youre bending over, your hip has a further "z-direction" if you so will, than a shorter person. This means you need to bend over more to be able to reach the bar, which either makes you squat down more (which is not what a deadlift is supposed to be), or you have to increase your angle between the vertical axis and your spine, which will create more risk of getting hurt.
In both these cases, its harder to lift the weight, than if you would have been shorter and have a more "smooth" form due to having shorter legs. Dont need to squat as much, and doesnt have to bend over as much.
I know Im probably being bamboozled, but I just hope someone learned something today.

Iktf
>go to oly lift section of gym
>set up my diddy weight
>start repping 405x6
>DYEL faggot who was squatting 185 with a belt literally stopped and stared
Best feeling I've had in awhile
>>36655206
Know that feel so hard:
>go to regular everyday type of gym
>go between 1130 and 1330
>it's mostly old people, some dyel dudes my age, and a couple bros
>cougars EVERYWHERE (I live in Atlanta)
>diddy twice a week
>last week 5x5 with 335
>cougar next to me doing bent over rows
>she literally stopped to watch me on my last set
>asked how much it was
>wow that's a lot! Good job!
>will ask her to pee on me next time I see her
Feels good.
>>36655192
what's next, you don't need protein to build muscles?
it's been known since forever it's the opposite and there's a reason best deadlifters are tall
it's like you're trying to invent something that already exists but in a way that doesn't work
Deadlifting today.
Shame I'm cutting, I can't lift as much as I used to.
>>36655192
sounds like you just have bad form.
>>36654968
i only pull once a week and im not sipping the 5x5 bullshit either. i do light, high reps to warm up then just start adding plates for doubles and singles.
im holding the bar right, i figured this out a long time ago. our bar is just aggresive and theres hardly ever chalk around. thanks for the input tho
>>36655242
Please provide me with a link and I will doubt basic physics. There is a reason there are tons of "How to deadlift when youre tall" videos, alot of which say "use a squat rack and put the bar higher up than the floor".
>>36655552
thats called a rack pull and its common deadlift assistance work for people whos weakpoint is locking out.
>>36655555
Sick pentas
>>36654850
I'll take "what is mixed grip" for $ 500 Alex.
>mfw deadlift day
>mfw highschool kids at gym impressed by 2pl8
>mfw I know it's literally like lifting 0 on fit
Still a great day.
>>36655552
do I also have to post a link to prove that you need water to live?
you're so convinced you're bad at deadlifting because of your height you wouldn't believe any """studies""" or articles anyway
you can check heights of world deadlift/squat/bench record holders to figure out that all the best deadlifters are above 6ft (current record holder is 6'3) while best benchers and squatters are shorter
I want to introduce deadlifts into my workout but I'm terrified of buying a ticket to snapcity. What would be the best way to learn proper form brehs?
>>36655862
look up "Candito Training" on youtube. he has a cpl basic form vids for it.
>>36655858
This is what pisses me off. You had like 4 posts to link one simple article. I just googled "how to deadlift as tall" and several videos and links came up.
Here is one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BTQebgxi8A
You do realize you have very little to stand on when you cant even provide one simple article instead of just saying "oh my god this is so basic, why dont you understand".
>>36655739
Is it strange that I hate lifting with mixed grip?
It just feels weird.
>>36655914
all best deadlifters are tall. fact
you're like a jamaican trying to justify being bad at sprinting
>>36656092
Alright then. Nice talkin' to you.
>>36655285
mfw I deadlifted 5kg over my personal best.
Only 4 reps instead of 5 though.
>>36657133
It was only 160kg, but I just realised that my last 5 rep best was actually 150kg, and I only managed 3 reps of 155kg, so I did even better than I expected.
It must be the new food.
>>36655019

Good vut not a replacement for diddlys

You'll make it, it'll take time though.

don't fucking respond to original OP unless you're contributing to the thread
three hrs till its time to pull guys. I have a 1rm PR in me but im gonna restrain myself i think and see if I cant get an old PR for a triple instead.
wish me luck

i'd buy that

don't do it, its retarded if you're not maxing out
>>36659692

Ok brah. Enjoy snap city.
>>36655206
I..I squat 185 with a belt on..
Do people make fun of me..?
>>36659986
People who actually go to the gym aren't generally as socially retarded and insecure as typical /fit/ posters.
So maybe but probably not.
>>36654781
its fine not to diddly but you know it's not useless. it wouldn't be such a popular movement if it was. its ignorant to try to poop on the opinions of every 9/10 people on this board
the gym isnt the place for hipster faggots thinking they're cool for going "against the norm"
>inb4 i took the bait
>tfw deadlifted 160kg today
>>36657469
>Literally killing yourself for fun
explain. im an athlete who fucking loves cleans for explosiveness but my form is shit so I leave it alone.
I can't deadlift or do barbell squats for a while because I pinched my sciatic nerve and it's a literal pain in the ass
>>36654672

A sad one because of this
>>36658790
got it 5x. was only expecting 2 or 3. Thanks my man.
>>36659986
You don't need belt for 185
>>36659986
No, people who actually go to the gym do not give a fuck, it's just people on /fit/ shit posting
>>36655192
Except arm length increases disproportionately with increasing height, putting you in a better pulling position.
Nearly all the biggest deadlifts are pulled by tall dudes. You just suck at deadlifts, and it's not because of your height.
>>36662107
That depends on the person. Usually its the case (and yes, the best deadlifters are long armed/short torso'd relative to their height) but if you get one of the poor bastards who's both tall and has the long torso/short limb build their deadlift is going to be a shitshow.
On the plus side, they'll be better benchers/squatters than most people their height.
>>36660296
Dope pic. Haven't seen that one in the wild in like 2 years.
>>36662124
Sure, there are anomalies, but being tall generally is not a disadvantage while deadlifting. It's just lanky faggots grasping at anything to excuse their failures. You don't see KK, Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw, or Hafthor whining about being tall.
>muh levers
>muh ROM
>muh ectomorphism
>pulled 315x5 last session for my top set
>pulled 325x2 twice today because muh grip
>tfw grip fail
>>36662218
Being tall? No, because it really is good for absolute strength (especially if it comes with advantageous proportions for the lift).
The side effects of the height though? Pretty often. Big SHWs tend to spend a lot of time bitching about how much their joints hurt or their food bill or the god damn CPAP machine they need. Being big enough to make those levers work the most in your favour comes with some nasty costs.
>MFW deadlift day
I fucking hate deadlifting when Im cutting.
Now Im stuck at 390lbs x 4-5 until my next bulk or maintenance
>>36659407
Can you imagine this shit rolling around on a fucking boat with a jetpack
